Mountain: Theme For An Imaginary Western, 2/24/1970 (High Quality Audio/Video)

That was amazing. What quality! I had woken up totally spooked and now this. Gather this was written just after Cream. Don't know that Eric ever touched this. Would have been hard to top perfection. Got to go play it again.

Thanks for posting that. Had never seen that clip before. Leslie West played with such feel, he wonderful touch on his vibrato.

When I paint my masterpiece.

Posted by: @robertdeeIt's easy to forget after all these years what a fine band Mountain was when I was 20 to 25 years old. I'm 76 now and it made me want to go back somehow.Â
It's what music does; keeps us young at heart.  Black Sabbath, Neil Young, Ted Nugent, the Dead, the ABB, UFO, BTO, Lynyrd Skynyrd along with countless others do it for me.  Let's turn it up and get lost in the moment. 🌹 😎Â

@robertdee:Â Thanks, excellent video!

It sure is a great song. Thanks for posting it. Written by Jack Bruce (music) and Pete Brown (lyrics), it first appeared on Jack Bruce's first solo album in 1969, Songs for a Tailor. Jack's version was mostly piano-based, and Mountain took it and very effectively added their individual talents to it. Felix Pappalardi produced and played on Songs for a Tailor, so he was very familiar with the song. Two of the songs on the album, Weird of Hermiston and The Clearout, were previously recorded by Cream as demos, and were included in their 1997 4-disc box set. I've often wondered if Cream worked on TFAIW. I'd be interested if anyone has any info on that.
