Masters Of The Telecastor @The City Winery, NY 1/10/19

The Masters Of The Telecastor are doing Leo Fender some justice. Leo couldn't play guitar, but Jim Weider, G.E. Smith, & Jon Herrington certainly can, Great Show. This version had Lincoln Schleifer back on bass with Josh Dion on the skins. Everyone sang a little. Taylor Barton opened along with her masterful husband Mr. Smith.

Dont know about now ( maybe someone knows) but about 5 years ago I was in a good size guitar store and ask the owner what right now is the best selling electric guitar? He said a Fender Telecaster. I said I figured it's a Les Paul. He said an SG currently is Gibson's best selling guitar. He also said Ibanez is a big seller and is a favorite of the hard rock or heavy metal players.
Country music is big and apparently the Telecaster is very popular with those players.
Who is the guy with The Lost Planet Airmen? He is a very good Tele player. They play fairs and smaller venues. They still pull a small crowd around the country because of their song Hot Rod Lincoln.

It's Bill Kirchen on lead Tele from Commander Cody's band. John Tichy on rhythm Tele. Smokin' tune, Great riff.
