ABB Family,
Next March is the granddaddy birthday - 50 years. Who do we need to pester to create a 50th anniversary tribute concert with the ABB Family Bands?
Which promoter can rent the Beacon (of the Fox or Macon City Auditorium) next year for a night of celebration? Can they package 2-3 bands to make this a night to remember?
This is an awesome idea! But how about a whole tour, too? 😛
After seeing the second to last show at the Beacon and Les Brers at Hampton Beach fall of 2015, I just thought it was only a matter of time till the next show.
I kind of figured that Peachfest last year would probably be the last time we had that many ABB alumni together on stage: Warren, Jaimoe, Chuck, Jack, Oteil and Marc. To see them with Devon, Duane T, Duane B, Vaylor, Berry and Lamar (plus members of Gregg & Jaimoe's bands) in two sets over two days was something I'm glad I was lucky to attend.
If they can pull something like that off again, I'd be there. I'm sure the 50th will be recognized by the musical family in some way, but probably never an event like that again.
I would love to see a legitimate video release of whatever film is available...
