Marc Quiñones

Just curious if anyone has heard on what Marc Quiñones is up to. I know he was in Les Bres and I thought he was playing in Greggs band too.
Everyone has a plan, till you get punched in the face,

Not really sure, I don't follow his musical career at all.

I heard the end of an album review on NPR about a month ago for a Latin Jazz artist. The reviewer ran down a list of the all-star musicians that were on it, and Marc was one of them. Unfortunately, I never caught the name of the artist or album.

With Gregg and Butch passing away, he is out of a gig at the moment just as Scott and the rest of Gregg's band. Not sure if Les Brers is going to continue but that band had been playing a small amount of gigs. MQ surely will land on his feet with a nice new gig.
The Freight Train Band was Butch's main band but in interviews just before his death, he seemed to be intrigued more with Les Brers and the possibility it would evolve into something big and fill the space left by the Allman Brothers leaving the scene.
I too wondered if that band could eventually do a big shed tour and a Beacon run. It seemed to me unlikely but Butch seemed to need a gig to replace his ABB job. The Freight Train Band was good and I liked hearing Butch sing that Bob Dylan song but it so far like Gregg and Dickey's bands in the 1980's, The Freight Train Band was stuck doing clubs and small theaters. Same with Great Southern in recent years. Gregg's band finally moved up to the next level.
Butch was the motor of the ABB. A great solid drummer. Apparently he, as many do, got hung up in IRS trouble probably from private business operations and needed a couple more big ABB tours to catch up. His situation was sad and shocking. It's hard to think about it as a fan.

I'm not sure the ABB or post-ABB projects were ever Marc's main gig. He started in Latin music and jazz and always kept busy with studio work and movie and TV scores, and he can probably do as much or as little of that as he feels like doing. I don't know if he'll work in the rock music world again because that only became part of his career when the ABB came knocking. I have a feeling he'll land exactly where he wants to.

Marc plays all over, I recall he was playing a regular gig in a club in Hell's Kitchen. Here he is with a salsa band in a club in Miami.
I'm sure he's doing fine, he's always played elsewhere with a diverse group of musicians.
blackey, I'm sure you mean well, but your post has a lot of conjecture and rumor. Really no need to dig that up here. Scott has his own band as well, Gregg's band wasn't any of these musicians' only gig.

Thanks for the post and the replies. I had been wondering what Marc was doing these days. Sounds like he's keeping busy. Good for him!
