Got linked to this from the Queen thread but didn't want to derail that one. But these guys do Lynyrd Skynyrd better than Lynyrd Skynyrd. LOL

I wasn't familiar with this group. Looks like there are a couple constant members and they surround themselves with other talented folks to recreate classic rock albums and or greatest hits. They nail both Queen and Skynyrd. Impressive. I don't normally love the tribute bands (I never go see the ABB ones)....the Last Waltz Ensemble based here in Atlanta is a big exception....but I'd definitely go see these guys. They absolutely out do the current Skynyrd and seem to understand some of the subtlety in the music (paricularly the Ed King and Steve Gaines guitar parts).

I've seen several of their shows as they are based here in Birmingham. Hendrix/Stones/ACDC/Zeppelin/Eagles/Fleetwood Mac/Prince/ABB. Thought it was sorta fun when it started but I've grown pretty tired of it. They tour all over the South, though.

On the way to Chattanooga a few weeks ago to see Tedeschi Trucks a pal of mine and I were "commenting" about success of BJS - seems they sold out the Tivoli Theatre there in about 2 hours - took TTB about 2 months to sell it out.

Yacht Rock Revue and Yatch Rock Schnooner (slightly different lineup of the same group) are our ATL local successful tribute / cover band. They pack in 1000 people to do soft rock late 70s stuff (Christopher Cross, Steely Dan, Hall & Oates, Toto, Kenny Loggins etc and they do a great job in a fun way), but then will turn around do a tribute to a single album like Prince 1999, Eagles Hotel California. One of them built a restaurant/concert hall. They are fun but it's not something I could take in very often.

If you were a middle aged single guy, you'd be wise to be at their shows regularly.
