Luther Dickinson is a multi-faceted talent. If it's got to do with any angle of the music business, I believe Mr. Dickinson has dabbled in it. He's been in many a band most notably the North Mississippi Allstars with his brother Cody and Chris Chew, but he's contributed to the Black Crowes and the South Memphis String Band among at least 10 others. I'm a big fan of the SMSB with Luther, Alvin Youngblood Hart, & Jimbo Mathus. The latest love of Luther is the Sisters Of The Strawberry Moon putting together an album and tour in support of it. It's a gathering of musical talent from the richest sound pools in America. It's a musical blend of Folk, R&B, and the Blues. This night had Luther with Amy Helm and the Birds Of Chicago (Allison Russell and JT Nero) with special guests Graham Lesh and Tony Leone. The Sisters Of The Strawberry Moon also includes Amy LaVere, Sharde Thomas, and the Como Mama's and they are on the new CD Solstice, but weren't onstage this night at the Winery.
