I ordered from Amazon UK a Stephen Stills 1972 radio broadcast titled Bluesman. There are no liner notes but Stephen at various points during the broadcast introduces Jo Lala and Chris Hillman so odds are it was a Manassas show. While introducing the song Bluesman Stephen offers that this particular Blues tune was written by Jimmy the Fox , Al Wilson and in a very low , sad sounding voice he than says ' and Duane Allman'. I had never heard of this tune so I was totally shocked when I heard Stills mention Duane's name as one of the authors of the song.
Many of these UK releases are not worth the money but this particular recording is pretty good. Manassas was an under the radar Stills project that should have had a longer shelf life. Good songs played by a bunch of great musicians. Getting to hear Duane's name mentioned in the car last night while listening to the album made it a great addition to my music collection.

Apparently is was dedicated to Jimi, Al Wilson, and Duane. It was not composed by them.

Always cool to hear Duane mentioned in any film.

So I'm watching HBO and "Tammy" begins with Melissa McCarthy...yada, yada, yada............. Duane Allman is mentioned I believe as "The wrong Allman brother".....for Grandma, Susan Sarandon to have slept with when she was a groupie.....
