Kirk West ABB Book

I've seen nothing since the June update that claimed around three more months with Kirk's illness. Anyone heard anything?

Well, the website for the book hasn't been updated for ages and still shows june as the month of release. the release has been posponed till autumn. The last update on his facebook page is from the 13nd of august showing an outtake / pic from his forthcoming coffee table book.
But the most intesting info comes along with an ABB group photo posted on the 23rd of july:
"TBT...this is an out take from my forth coming coffee table book..
Les Brers - Kirk West's Photographic Journey with The Brothers ...
the current expected publishing date looks to be late October...
the book has grown from 250 pages to 300+ pages
and increased from 350 fotos to upwards of 700...
at no extra cost to you, the customer....
you can pre-order now at www.lesbrers.com
this shot was taken at SIR in NYC in march '99..

I'm getting even more excited about this publication because of the aforementioned
"the book has grown from 250 pages to 300+ pages
and increased from 350 fotos to upwards of 700..."

About a month or so ago Kirk posted on his Facebook page that the expected delivery date is now late October/early November.

I can't get that link to work. Really curious about this book!

I've been proofreading some pages for Kirk. This book is amazing and will blow you all away.
Not sure when we will have it... some time this fall... I beleive Kirk will be doing anothe rupdate to Kickstarter supporters soon... Hang in there. You will not be let down.

will there be a release party? would love to get him to sign it.
Alan, any insight to what the band members think of the project? i'd love to have some of them sign certain pages.

Sully, we will have some parties, I think.
Not sure specifically about what members think of the book, but every single one except Gregg came over and visited Kirk's gallery at Citrus during the Beacon run last year. I walked through with Jaimoe, marc, Derek and Oteil (separately).

November..it is on his FB page...CANNOT WAIT!

Finally an update:
Update #6
Oct 28 2015
The book is at the printers!
Howdy boys & girls, brothers & sisters, and friends seen & unseen..
After an unnervingly long wait between updates, for which I apologize,
I finally have a few things to tell you all about.…
I have been keepin folks up to speed with the facts that I had, rather than post hopes or expectations…
Mainly on my facebook pages and occasionally here …if you have missed any of these, I am sorry ….
But as it stands now…
The book is finished and at the printer/binder and I should have my first preview copy next week, the first week of November..
At that point the shipping from the printer in Hong Kong will take place on a "slow boat from China"….
After cruising the Pacific & thru the Panama Canal to the port of Savannah…
The books will then clear customs and be delivered by truck to my gallery in Macon, Georgia…
At which time I will sign & ship each copy to each of my supporters & all you folks who have had your faith & patience in my project…
HOPEFULLY everyone will be getting their copy by December 1st…. maybe even by Thanksgiving...fingers crossed!!!!
Along the way on this journey the book has grown from 250 pages to 306 total pages and from 350 fotos to over 800 images…
It has been quite a road to produce this visual history of my 40 years of photographing the Allman Brothers Band…
Initially we had planned to self publish & distribute it ourselves, but along the way several publishing companies reached out to us
And we signed with Insight Editions out of San Rafael, California, a great company that specializes in coffee table books, a lot of which focus on music topics…
A perfect fit for us…
This sorting out & then signing with Insight took some time and then the difficult task of editing 20,000+ fotos down to 8-900 images to tell the story….
Getting the edit down to 2000 was managable but that last thousand was a bitch to cut….
This being my first attempt at anything this large was daunting to say the least…
But I think we did a hell of a job….
Again I am sorry for the prolonged delay in delivery, and the sparse updates….
my feeling was, its better to give solid info when we had it, rather than build up expectations & then not meet them…
Sorry if I let folks worry too much….
I was trying to do all the worrying myself…
So that’s the dealio…
When I have the preview copy in my hands I will let ya know…
And show ya
And thanks to all my friends & neighbors…
Kirk West"

I am fine with the extended wait and that there are even more pics in the book - thrilled that this is getting made and am excited to get my copy!

psyched

Awesome bro, really looking forward to this! Have always dug your photos

Is there order information?
Everything in Moderation. Including Moderation.

Release date info becomes more and more unclear. Amazon USA now states the 10th of december 2015, Amazon Germany now states a 12th of january 2016 release date while Amazon UK even states the 15nd of march 2016 as a release date. Both European websites for the first time now show 8 pages from the inside of the forthcoming book (4 images). it appears the format of the book is much wider than it's heigth. Personally i prefer the other way around but maybe for a photobook this format works better.
Here's a peak:

Thanks for the update

Sounds great.
I assume since Kirk's work post dated Duane & Berry's passing there won't be much of them in the book.

Got mine today
Great photos!
I just had a quick look through, I need to spend more time with it.
A great gift, even though it came a little late.

I got mine today as well.
I spent about 30 minutes just skimming through it and didn't even come close to viewing all the pictures.
It's funny looking at the pictures of Derek when he first joined the band.
I forgot how young he was, Literally just a kid.

Waiting for mine:(

The book is awesome.................

I received mine Christmas... still haven't made it all the way through. There's just so much incredible stuff in there....Thanks Kirk....awesome job.

Got mine on 12/28. From what little I've had a chance to look at..it is awesome. Thanks Kirk...hope you have to do several reprints. Good luck !!

Still waiting 🙁
