Keith Richards Documentary
I watched the new Keith Richards documentary on Net Fliks last night. Anybody else seen this yet?
Lots of great moments from early 'Stones tours, backstage and studio stuff. Great film! I just love this guy!
I saw it. I'm a huge Keef fan as well, so I really enjoyed much of the footage, especially him playing piano. Only problem was that it seemed like an advertisement for his new album, as opposed to a documentary? But maybe that was just me? Still, I highly recommend watching it.
Yeah, parts of it were certainly ... timely. Don't know if that was for promotion or just to bring the thing as to date as possible.
I liked that he revisited and reflected on all of his sources of inspiration. Chicago, Nashville - even citing the old English/Irish/Celtic ballads and their eventual influence on what has become modern blues (I cited the Child ballads as "white man's contribution to the blues" years ago! 😉 ).
The documentary is the perfect companion piece to Keef's book!
