Got this book from the library and am about a third of the way in. Easy read and if you are into these types of books, you will like this one.

Also saw this story from him while on Conan, good story about a treasured guitar, hard times, Slash :

Not meaning to spoil the book, but here is one story from Joe.

They had a Dad of a friend that was an Air Force pilot, that occasionally piloted for them. He wouldn't let the band charter a plane until he had a chance to painstakingly check it out.

On one occasion:

He looked at a Convair and firmly put his foot down. "No way," was all he said. A week later, on October 20, 1977, that Convair crashed with Lynyrd Skynyrd on board.

I bought the nice signed edition package of Joe Perry's book. I haven't read it. I should. The same with other books I've collected.

I grabbed signed copies of Gregg's, BB's, Buddy's, Clapton's, & Bobby Key's. I also grabbed other unsigned books, but haven't read any of them. I get hung up on my instruments if I get free time.

Never ceases to amaze me how these bands got screwed at the hands of management.

Aerosmith was no different, manager/team after team.

Joe Perry's Dad was an accountant, yet he himself had zero interest or insight into the details.

Nonetheless, a good insight into the band, a familiar story, humble beginnings, some fame, drugs, women, women that disrupted the band, drugs disrupting the band, money woes, band in-fighting, rehab and more rehab, huge comebacks.

Perry had very few negative comments about contemporaries, really just the opposite, he is a huge fan of bands like Cheap Trick, Kiss, AC/DC.

I've seen Aerosmith a few times and also The Joe Perry Project a few times, I'd recommend this book to fans of those bands.
