What was the connection? Whipping Post for a socialist. Probably no connection just bumper music in rotation. Not like "Thanks for the Memories" for Bob Hope.

Hot 'Lanta was played as some outro music when the Sunday Night Football game was in Atlanta several weeks ago.

"Is that a real poncho or is that a Sears poncho?"

Maybe WP was a subtle reminder that real people were tortured in places like the USSR? Comrade Muppet honeymooned there in the late 80's. As former Swedish Prime Minister Carl Bildt said "Bernie Sanders was lucky to be able to get to the Soviet Union in 1988 and praise all its stunning socialist achievements before the entire system and empire collapsed under the weight of its own spectacular failures."
