Jack Pearson--Foxy Lady

Very good. I was hoping I would see Jack using a Strat with a whammy bar.
Gregg Allman said Jack was amazing in how he could play so many styles so well. Here his tip of the hat to Jimi is very strong.
Gregg also, surprisingly to me, that Jack came the closest of matching the cool slide licks of Duane Allman of any of the guitarists that were with the ABB. With all due respect to the great Warren Haynes, Jack and Derek to me came the closest to channeling the Duane Allman vibe while playing with Dickey in the ABB.
Probably the best version of Foxy Lady I've heard other than Jimi is the late Gary Moore.
There us one by Jimi on YouTube were he runs his arm and the mic stand up and down the neck of his guitar. A Strat and whammy bar are huge parts of Jimi's style but Jimi was fantastic on a Gibson flying V with no whammy bar he used on just one song.
Only got to see him twice and surprisingly he opened for the Monkees. Tons of young teens and children in the audience who didn't like Jimi at all. But most of us young hippies left after Jimi played.

I remember seeing a video of Little Wing on You Tube where Jimi ran the strings across the metal mic stand going up and down with the neck using it as a slide. Wow, that just totally floored me.

The guy just gets better and better. I always have hope that someday he will record with some of the Ex Allman Brothers guys.

I have recently read they are planning an archival release of the period Jack was in the ABB. Said they wanted Jack himself to pick the show. There is one on YouTube from 1997 in Raleigh that is audio only but it's particularly strong. Jack and Dickey are in very good form.
The 1997 shows I saw with Jack and Oteil were very strong. I was let down when Allen and Haynes quit so it was a shot in the arm to see the band really hook together with a new lineup.

That would be fantastic -- Jaimoe said that when Jack was in the band, he heard a lot of the original band in that lineup -- great take of Foxy Lady, thx

Yes never saw the brothers with Jack but did get to see him in the short lived Les Beres with Butch and JJ....
