Is there any chance we'll ever get an official release from Jack's original stint with the band? I've love a Blu Ray or DVD of the 9/11/98 show at Great Woods that was broadcast on PPV.

It's a shame that he isn't represented by *any* recordings that are available for purchase by the average fan. He was the most interesting aspect of the shows for that version of the band to me. With the setlists being fairly static, he brought something new and different every night.

Jack once told me that his biggest regret (of his ABB days) was that they din't record. There are some great recorded shows floating around, though.

I'd love a Best-of 1998 disc. Have to include their one-off performance of HideAway as well those great versions of High Falls they did. Everyday, Dimples. Elizabeth Reed. Could be a great double disc.

Of course I'd take anything, but a "best-of" would be my preference. There are some songs they didn't do as well (or didn't come out as crisp on the tapes) and I'd rather just nail the highlights, like the Live at the Beacon CD did to represent NYC 1992.

Not from the actual late 90's era of Jack, but there are some good Instant Lives of nights where he covered for Derek or Warren over the last 15 years. A couple in '04 or '05, and then a random Wanee one year where he covered for Derek on 2nd night.
Otherwise, if you can ever get to Nashville, he plays out occasionally at good spots like 3rd & Lindsley, highly recommend making the trip if you can. I'll buy you a drink......you'll need it just to get through listening to anyone else in town. Smile

There are some great soundboard recordings from Jack's era. Also the recordings from 93 when he sat in for Dickey are off the charts good. Makes for very interesting listening.
