I remember Gregg Allman. I had never heard of Charlie Kirk and may he RIP. Jimmy Kimmel cancelled by Disney today. 3 policemen trying to serve a warrant  in Pennsylvania shot and killed today.

What the world needs now is love 💘

The Eat A Peach version is absolutely perfect. Berry Oakley's bass line is melodic and perfect. Dickey's electric guitar is melodic and BEAUTIFUL!!

And Gregg's vocals are wonderful.

So she can't tell Gregg from Dickey & considers herself a vocal coach?

Enjoyable!!...Yeah not everyone knows who the ABB is. I knew someone who didn't know who John Lennon was the day he was killed...

There's another YouTuber Wings Of Pegasus that does reviews of different people...vocals, guitar...etc

Yeah, they're a lot of legit vocal coaches who use SM to demo techniques and some are excellent. This woman may have a lot of likes but if she's selling herself as a pro she ought to be able to recognize the difference between voices. I don't think many would have trouble distinguishing a Gregg v. Dickey solo whether you've heard of the ABB or not. She also talks about the performance (wow, never seen so many guitars on stage!) & cues rather than analyzing Gregg's voice. What's the point? How is it helpful? Just my thoughts on caution re SM.

Someone didn't believe me once when I said Paul McCartney had a band before Wings!

@cyclone88 She may have heard Ramblin man 10 years ago or more. From what I got is she loved this performance but wasn't a person who listen to guitar based music. She loved Gregg's voice. The comments about the number of guitars was just that...simply a comment from someone who doesn't listen to guitar based music.

My point is that she promotes herself as a vocal coach with experience in ALL genres, including opera, rock, country, musical theatre when she doesn't. She's 50+ & lived in TN all her life except for a stint at a tiny Christian college in CA so she ought to at least recognize a southern accent. I didn't mean for this to be a thing. I've had so many vocal clients get terrible advice from SM. If 500k followers want to watch it for enjoyment, great, but I'm mad at it as technical analysis/advice.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Bingo. Most of these reaction videos are garbage, it's just a way for wannabe influencers to steal someone else's content to monetize their youtube channel. Since when did any of us need some one else's opinion on music? Best to avoid them completely.

@cyclone88 I just took it more lightly...I didn't know you were a vocal teacher...I'm actually starting to learn Bel Canto.

We live in a time when you can have a microphone and an opinion there are lots of apps for people to express what they want.

I wasn't looking at the vid so much as a vocal training vid but just someone with a microphone and a opinion...and overall she loved it.

As a guitar player/teacher I also see lots of questionable vids and approaches to playing...I just shrug my shoulders and move on

My biggest peeve is the "Caged system" and tab...two shortcuts to not really understanding your instrument or music but they will help people play at some level...

Not a voice teacher, but an entertainment lawyer (& conservatory trained musician) with a lot of singer clients. I've had many young clients who've been dropped or fired due to being unprepared because they tried something they "learned" through SM that totally wrecked their fit for a role/tour & it's my job to get them back on track to adhere to contractual obligations. I want them to succeed!

Didn't know you were a teacher. Students all have different goals & explore different methods. SM creates a lot of profitable damage. Anyone can call themselves an expert, host a podcast, & spend their days on SM "influencing" & getting revenue. Dumpster fires. Great voices are born; they can be refined technically for ease, endurance, & longevity w/professional coaching but talent is talent. What I really thought about watching that video was whether she had permission to use the ABB performance for commercial purposes, but that's me.

I'm sure she does not, but so many of these TV performances recorded to VHS once upon a time have been uploaded to multiple Youtube channels that it's hard or pointless to police. The original copyright holder has to submit the claim to Youtube, and whatever production company or studio produced this show might not even exist anymore. And if they do, they're probably too busy to worry about an obscure clip of theirs floating around the internet.

Youtube is full of amateur critics and reviewers, it's an easy way to get ad clicks and engage viewers. But most of them are hack hustlers or are, well, amateurs with a camera and a mic. I mean, enjoy the music but draw your own conclusions.

@porkchopbob

All true re rights & presumably, the rights orgs do what they can. The bigger issue now is AI - when uploading your works to a platform, there's language that allows them to combine your work w/any other on the platform to create a "new" work solely owned by the platform. Like every other era in the music biz, talent blindly give away rights unless they have an advocate. Whole other topic.
