Interview Susan Derek on Youtub

Susan and Derek had beein interviewed on November 14 prior to the Bochum concert.

😛

The TTB and Warren Haynes shows in London recently were a pleasure due the audiences' respect and attention.
I'd hate to think that either of them would have preferred to have played to rowdy, chatty, whoopin' and hollerin', US-style audiences but I fear I may be wrong.

I know I'd rather attend in a crowd that is there to listen to the music. Too many people today are using the concert as background noise for the event they are hosting with their friends.

I think a lot of it has to do with the venue. Most of the TTB shows I've seen have been in venues that inspired listening. Although Saturday night drunks can really screw up a good show. Its been that way for decades. I thought the last Saturday of the final Fox show was nearly ruined by the hollering drunken rednecks. The Sunday and Friday shows were far more reverent.
Regarding the interview... that was a nice Thanksgiving gift.

Our general society has a huge attention deficit problem. Due to instant everything....so there's no experiences that people have now that they have to sit and concentrate....they don't have that skill...That skill is gone from the general society....It's a generational gap....our childhood experience help us learn to stay focused so we go to shows to hear the music...people now.... they have the same want..... they don't know how to go about it. They don't have the skill to just sit and listen
Thanks for the interview...great stuff

What lovely, classy, thoughtful people. I'm not surprised but am always delighted by Derek & Susan.

OK, something strange happened. I finished watching that video interview but thought I shut it off. Now I'm hearing a live TTB recording where Susan congratulates the crowd for some sports success their region had, where she had the same bracket. Then they bust into an excellent song off "Made Up Mind." I think it is called "All that I Want." Or is it "I'll Find My Way"? Anyway - It has always struck me as being VERY Derek and the Dominoes, especially the guitar inter-riffs under the chorus, when the lyrics go "You, you're all I want / All that I need." And that blast-off on the coda!!! Pure D & D.
However, this intro on this live version struck me as sounding a LOT like Peter Gabriel's "Solsbury Hill"!

Never mind! It was Madison WI 2015. I'm going to shut up and watch it now.

I know I'd rather attend in a crowd that is there to listen to the music. Too many people today are using the concert as background noise for the event they are hosting with their friends.
This is something that never ceases to amaze me - at concerts, I'm surrounded by people who paid good money to see a performance that is happening in real-time, and will never again exist, as is the nature of live performance. And instead of paying attention, they talk all the time while the show passes them by.

😮 😛
