In Session: Glen Campbell and Leon Russell 1983

OK I see playback here has been disabled. Easy then. Go to YouTube. Do a search for In Session: Glen Campbell and Leon Russell 1983.

I saw GC and his band surrounded by an orchestra many years ago in concert. It was impressive. GC was a great guitar player. He played all of the hits - most of which were written by Jimmy Webb, a great songwriter.
I believe at one time GC filled in for several gigs as a Beach Boy.

Thanks for posting!
Since Halloween is around the corner, here's some Leon Russell trivia: he plays piano on Bobby Picket's novelty song, "Monster Mash". ... whatever did happen to the Transylvania Twist?

@martind28: Campbell acknowledges Jimmy Webb in this video!

Posted by: @robslobCampbell is 47 in this video and he passed in 2017. Russell is 41 here and he passed in 2016. The genre leans toward country but they also do Elvis, The Righteous Brothers, Roy Orbison and many others. Campbell and Russell both perform their own tunes as well.
Speaking of Elvis, TN is finger-pointing at his estate for the state's default on bonds that were tied to tourism, particularly funds that expanded Graceland. The actual culprit was Covid that caused the state's tourism to decline about 40% in just one year according to the state Economic Development Dept. Graceland is the #2 home museum behind The White House & it was closed during Covid. The state can hardly blame the Presley estate for that.

I bought a Leon Russell album about 1974. Had a track the radio was playing I think was call Tightrope. Good album. First time I saw Leon he was with Joe Cocker. I think Jim Gordon was the drummer.
Saw Glen Campbell on TV a lot back then. His Galveston hit was about a young man going to Viet Nam. He played hot guitar on TV a time or two a show but usually acoustic.
Here is Glen with the Vietnam war song which was a huge hit in 1969 and Glen is on electric guitar.
