Hey Fretsman after losing several posts in the past. If I'm typing a long one, I periodically click "preview post." Never had a problem doing this. 😉
No idea what you were typing but if you were in a particular file (and this is may sound like simple advice), but just save it periodically. Doesn't matter if you are just saving it to your desktop or a network, it should work.
Everything in Moderation. Including Moderation.
This is why I type long posts in either MS Word or notepad, and save the document before I post the text online.
Most MSFT products have an auto save feature that is beneficial for files.
I was typing the Rock, Ribs, & Ridges thread. I was copying and pasting between different windows adding the youtube video links. I was trying to find song titles by Blackberry Smoke, and just closed the wrong window. I have my old Fretsman email on aol it normally saves and updates a draft version of my email. I didn't go through my normal compose email set-up and it bit me. I had to retype, rethink, and repost. Thanx for all the suggestions.
I forgot about a Michael Allman mention. I've seen him up there the last couple years. He seems to be known by folks up there. A couple years ago he walked up to the stage talking to Leslie West. Leslie dedicated the rest of the show to Duane and Berry. I had the tripod out video taping and Michael points in my direction and gives me the thumbs up, I was a lil confused and gave the "huh" shrug? He pointed again to me, then his shirt, and then fist pumped his heart. I then remembered in my own little tribute I wore my concert shirt from Gregg's 2011 tour. He was thanking me for the for my shirt choice.
I just saw Michael Allman and others (inc Duane Betts) are playing a Gregg Allman tribute show at BB Kings in NYC on Aug 9th. I hope they tear it up.
