How many shows did Duane play with the ABB?

Any Ideas?

Around 284. I think he missed some playing with Derek and the Dominos. Not sure about others.
Needless to say, not enough.

It had to be MUCH more than that. They did 300 shows in 1970 alone. Then factor in 1969 and 1971.............it had to be MUCH more than 284. Probably well over 500.

Yeah you could be right about that. I only roughly counted the ABB setlist section on this site. And now that you mention it I realize that that list is incomplete. Sure wish I had them all...

many of those 300 dates were multiple shows per day....a matinee show and the a late show....they did a lot of those in 1970....Steel pier in NJ was 2 or 3 shows a day....Fillmore East did 2 shows a day on the weekends

Yes Duane played with the ABB for about 500 shows but some stops had multiple shows a day or multiple shows over more than one day such as some of Bill Graham's shows
I think the only shows he missed was when he let Eric Clapton talk him into performing with Derek and the Domino's and that is when the ABB actually played first as a 5 man band so after Duane was killed, they knew they could do it and played over 70 shows as a 5 man lineup in 1972. I saw them in January of 72 and Gregg mentioned they have a new album coming called "Eat A Peach" on the Warner Brothers label. But when it came out in a few weeks it was on Capricorn except it wasn't distributed by Atlantic then but WB.
They played very well. It was a hot show. But nobody smiled anymore and Berry Oakley stayed over behind the drums most of the night and never said a word. It's been along time ago but I don't remember him singing either than night. He use to do a little of the talking between songs in addition to Duane. Gregg did too but not as much as Berry. Of course Duane did most of it. That's BO on the Fillmore album at the end of Stormy Monday "Brother Gregg singing the blues and Duane, Dickey and (then it fades)" But we later found out he says Ace after he says Dickey and it was faded there because Tom Down decided to edit out Ace's harmonica solo which came after Dickey's. The Fillmore Concerts album in the early 90's put Ace's (Thom D.) solo back in but I can't remember if BO still fades out there.

God, you would think there would be more releases by the ABB, with duane on them.

Nope. It would be a repeat of the exact same material

There could be. I bet a lot of shows got recorded, then buried in someone's attic, etc. Also, there could be a ton of shows held by folks who don't know about this site, who are afraid of legal repercussions about trading (not knowing the ABB's views on this), etc. There are probably a lot of soundboard recordings in limbo as well.
It's enough to make a grownup cry 🙁
