I am waiting for my copy of At Fillmore East MFSL to arrive. Thinking about a headphone amp and DAC to listen to at home so it is not a portable setup I am looking for. Anyone have any thoughts on this? I am looking to spend about $300 max. This is not a state of the art setup by any means. Using Audio Technica ATH-M50x cans for now.

I've been very pleased with my Audioengine N22 headphone amp. I use it for my Grado SR 225's. The headphones are a bit pricy at around $200. But I've heard the Grado 125's are damn good and run about $50 less. I'm sure you can find both sets of cans for less. I like their comfort, sound, and the fact they are made in Brooklyn.

The Audioengine runs about $200.

I think you will be happy with that set up. I also use the audio engine to run my desktop speakers.
