Happy Birthday to the one and only Mr. Warren Haynes. Hopefully you are safe and sound and resting up while going through the MSG tapes and prepping a DVD and cd release of that amazing evening. Stay safe and healthy as we await the next time we get to see you out on the road.

And still thinking of you Brian Farmer. Still missed.

Yes Happy Birthday Warren. First time I saw Warren was at a nightclub in Winston Salem, North Carolina in 1988. He was with Dickeyband Johnny Neal and Matt Abbts were there. They opened with a big rocker called Rock Bottom then Blue Sky. I was shaking my head. Wow that guy can play!! And Matt was really cookin' too. Got to shake hands with Warren and chat for a moment. He said often it's hard for two lead guitar player to be in the same band but he has a real good relationship with Dickey and Dickey likes having him in the band.

Didn't get go chat with him the next year, 1989, with the Allman Brothers as it was a big show at a coliseum. Almost a sell out too. In one year Warren and Dickey went from playing to 350 people to 9,000.

Got to chat again when he was back in Winston Salem at the club in 1993 touring for his new solo album which I bought. The guys with him were not any I had seen before. Think one had the last name Holly. Chuck Leavell produced the album. I still have the CD. It's good. Need to play it again.

The next year or so he was back there again with Govt Mule so I drove to Winston Salem again. They were a trio and opened with Mother Earth. Chatted with Warren and Woody that time. Found out from Woody that Jaimoe named the band. Warren said they were staying with the Allmans as it's their main gig but he, Allen and Matt wanted to explore that power trio lineup as all 3 loved Cream, Hendrix etc.

Happy Birthday Warren!
