hanky paul Ruining what's left of the Notlaws

From Chris Anderson on Facebook:
"Today marks the first day without the Outlaws after 18 years, several band versions,Henry and Monte have decided to go in a different direction ,and informed me suddenly yesterday.I thank them for the time that allowed me to play out my heart and soul for you at each and every show and showcase my talent to you in hope of/for your enjoyment.I appreciate the kindness and Love you all showed me! I look forward to new projects and music and now will finally have the time to create, uninhibited by preconceived notions of what is good, and play with likeminded people.I will have new music out soon!! I'm excited and feel re-energized!! See you in the studio and out on the road God Bless all of you!!"

How unfortunate. I love the music of the Outlaws. In my mind and heart Chris Anderson and Steve Grisham keep Hughie and Billy's spirit alive. Hughie hand picked (enlisted) them both to join Florida's Guitar Army. Henry Paul brought a couple tunes and his hokey voice to the band. There was no fire with him, there was no "shock and awe" so to speak. I have supported the latest version of the Outlaws due to it being an extension of Hughie and in turn Billy also. Their licks were passed on from Hughie's fretboard to theirs. The fire, the spirit, the way the songs were meant to be. Henry meant less than they did. I have to rethink the Rock, Ribs, & Ridges Day 1 if no Dickey Betts closer announcement is forthcoming (it's still listed as TBD for Saturday). I will make an effort to chase down Mr. Anderson. If you don't have his solo disc, I'd recommend it.
Focus on Chris and Steve, Yes technically "Notlaws", but they kept a loved ones music floating in the air and they kept me coming back. As I said How Unfortunate.
