@bill_graham I watched that and what an amazing group of guitars!!! And each one is a high quality instrument. And expensive!!
One needs lots of money to keep buying guitars of that quality and uniqueness.
And Keith has deep pockets!
He is worth well over $10 thousand dollars!!:)

Epiphone Greeny Les Paul review

@bill_graham That is interesting. I really like Greeny. It took awhile before I noticed the great and unusual tone Greeny has. Noticed it with Peter then Gary Moore and now the player for Metallica. Kirt Hammitt or something I think.n

Yeah it is a unique and historical guitar for sure.
Kirk Hammett of Metallica owns it and actually uses it on tour.
Pretty ballsy of him considering what he paid for it but I read he has full time security guarding it at all times on tour.

@bill_graham I was checking on line Bill and Hammett paid $2 million for the Les Paul which was Peter Green's for several years then Peter passed it to Gary Moore who used it for several more years.
Hammett bought it from a collector.
Gibson custom shop now has factory produced copies of the guitar for much less money. About $19 thousand each.
But this standard run ( not custom shop) of the Kirk Hammett Gibson Les Paul is $3,199.00.
Not bad. I usually have that much in my billfold.

Norman's Rare Guitars Guitar of the day
2013 Fender Stratocaster Select

@bill_graham Bill a good sounding Strat is my favorite guitar generally speaking next to a fat tone Les Paul.
I'm very impressed with the tone and quality of this 2013 Strat. Plus it's a beautiful instrument.

Warren Haynes is a Gibson man and more specifically a Les Paul player but he also likes the often overlooked Gibson Firebird.
Warren is not a Stratocaster guy but does miss his Fender Stratocaster which was his number one in the 1980's and even used it in the Allman Brothers Band until it was stolen in New York City in the early 90's. Warren still misses it today.
Alan Paul said Warren launched an extensive search for the Strat at music stores and pawn shops all over and found nothing!!
Here is Warren's interview.

Nice article on Derek Trucks' great slide guitar style. He is one of the best today!!! I agree.

Here is Greeny!! It sounds like a great Strat through a 100 watt Marshall???? Never knew that was what the "out of phase" tone was!!

@robertdee Speaking of Metallica - they're giving cash rewards to marching bands who play their music! Links to videos inside story:
For example:
Wondering if there is a "Greeny" version of a brass instrument?

@rusty That is cool of Metallica. I had a chance to see them with a friend who was a huge fan. But there was an awful place crash outside of Pittsburg. US Air 737 and that messed up our connection.
He said they always open their show the "Ecstacy Of Gold" from western film the Good, Bad and Ugly.
I'm not a heavy metal fan really so I never tried to see them again.
I doubt a pickup has ever been wired backwards on a brass instrument but the late Ubie Green could play a brass instrument with a SLIDE!!! Ooooooweeee!
He was a top shelf jazz player for decades.

In case you need ideas for your Santa's list this year

@bill_graham S60,000.00 and the body is worn out, scratches all over and looks like it's been on the road for 20 years and it's brand new!?!?!?
Reminds me of those expensive jeans the young people wear now. Brand new, $60 dollars and holes everywhere!!
But if you sound like SVR with it I guess it's worth the hefty price.

@robertdee $60K would buy you several bona-fide vintage guitars. The SRV model is most certainly NOT guaranteed to make you play/sound like Stevie Ray. A very expensive price tag on pretentiousness!

@robertdee With the hat, that gold sparkly shirt and the guitar strap with the white music notes on it ... maybe. Ya also gotta be from Texas.

Mark Knopfler's 1971 Hagstrom solid body guitar up for auction. Pretty guitar that is estimated to sell for under $1.5K. Get your bids in gents.

Lots of nice vintage gear in this auction for resonable prices relatively speaking. Instead of blowing $60k on the SRV reissue you could get a nice haul of vintage gear in this auction if the estimates are the actual sell price.
Lots of funky off brand guitars if that is your thing.
