Has anyone ever compiled a list of guest artists ranked by most appearances? Bruce Katz, Ron Holloway and the Juke Horns come to mind as having done quite a few turns with the band. There have been some good/odd appearances too -- Bernie Williams, center fielder for the Yankees comes to mind, Bruce Willis, Frampton, etc. Would love to see a complete list.

Yep wondering if EC will appear this evening - I doubt playing Stormy Monday 6 or 7 nights ago
as part of a 3 song set is coincidental.

I will be happy with no guests tonight.
As fear as past guests my favorites were:
Col. Bruce !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
also:

Bob Margolin
Hook Herrera
Maurice Brown
Stanley Clarke

I saw Clapton at the anniversary shows but it didn't impress me as much as even one song with Col. Bruce
Really psyched about tonight!

There's a searchable database on this site if you click Live Show Database. I don't think there's a list of guests, and it would be time consuming and tricky to try to find a real answer because names aren't always noted in a consistent way, and people kept much better records in the 2000s and 2010s than they did in the '70s. But a good bet for the most frequent guest is their drum tech James "Jaimoe" van der Bogert, who had the most opportunities to sit in. The database says he played with them 86 times from 2002 onward. Some other hits: "Juke" and "Jukes" gets 37 combined results, Katz gets 26, Doucette gets 24, Barraco gets 22, and Riddle and Kofi both get 20.

Back during the original band the main guest artist was Thom Doucette on harp. I think Duane invited him to join but he wanted to go and come when he felt like it. He appears on Idlewild South, Fillmore East and An Evening With First Set in 1992. Indeed he was playing with the band often in the early 90's. Warren would have known him then. Wonder if Ace Doucette was invited for tonight? Ace may have played more gigs than anyone not officially a member but I'm not sure. On the 1975 76 Win Loose or Draw tour Bill Stewart played percussion between Jaimoe and Butch. Stewart was the drummer on Laid Back and Gregg's tours for Laid Back. Jaimoe was also on drums on the first leg of that tour.
