I believe I have heard that Trouble No More was the first one they worked up together - seems like an apt one to end on.

Any other guesses?

Really BB? It's all subjective, but I'd rather they didn't. I have seen the ABB close Umptrillion shows with Whipping Post and it seems like The Last Show Ever ought to be recognized with something more that a cookie-cutter show ender. I'd rather leave The Last Show without Dejavu and feeling like I was leaving any other ABB show. Just my preference.

If I had to put money on it, I'd say Statesboro Blues. If I got to pick, which I don't think I will, I'd say Whipping Post > Mountain Jam > Little Martha.

Little Martha Live, with Gregg, Jaimoe, Butch, Marc & O'teil, arms around each other standing behind Derek & Warren who are sitting center stage.

I was thinking Whipping Post > Little Martha. I like that idea of the band behind Derek & Warren during Little Martha. Afterwards a crazy long standing ovation with tears flowing from most peoples eyes. It's going to be emotional. So glad i have a ticket to the last night.

I'd be a bit surprised if it weren't "Whipping Post." Having said that, they seem to be going out with less than a bang. It might just boil down to whatever wasn't played the night before and what's on Warren's mind (that is, if he is still doing the setlists).

NOBODY LEFT TO RUN WITH

It would be epic and fitting and true, coupled with irony (songwriter).

Thought about that one too. As you said, the irony. That may keep it from being played.

Great choice, but they ain't gonna close with a Dickey tune. Old Before My Time would be very fitting, but probably too true and close to home to actually do it. I just hope and pray it ain't One Way Out.............but the guys have much better taste than that, despite it being a very common (and very tired) closer.

Whipping Post I would guess. Seems to me it should be everyone on stage and a song that Gregg is singing.

Axeman, I know it's played a lot but I can never get tired of it. And it's a perfect closing song with the dramatic ending. And I love the idea of going into Little Martha. But the intensity and power of WP still gives me chills when I listen to my bootlegs. Just incredible...even after all this time hearing it.

I guess it will be an extremely long "Mountain Jam" after which everyone walks out the door into the morning sunrise.

Will the Circle Be Unbroken seems like a really good guess.

Maybe Whipping Post to close the second set (I'd be fine with that BB) and Circle closer?

Still, I hope they have a surprise for the, or one of the encores.

How about, say,:

Whipping Post to close the second set

Encore:

Revival
Trouble No More
Circle Be Unbroken

Given the gravity of the event, I'd like to see something like the above.

Without a doubt, it will be "Angeline."

I think this is about right, though I think Circle will not be played. Just not ABB-enough (I called Circle to close Gregg's tribute show). WP-Martha to close.

Actually based on the lyrics, "So Long" from "Reach for the Sky" would be fitting. Don't think there's any way that will happen.

The too obvious smack in the face would be "End of the Line"

I'd guess - along with others - Whipping Post. And anyone who wants to hang - I'll be at the last five shows. Staying over for the last two which I'd assume will go late. PM me or bump827@yahoo.com

I think Little Martha. The last show should go just past midnight to the 29th. I think it'd be fitting.

The only problem would be that Little Martha is a quiet tune which was well observed at the START of the 2009 shows.

It may be another matter when the audience is in tumult at the end of a show.
