Gregory Lenoir Allman

Man, it is hard to fathom that Gregg has moved on for 4 years now. I wish there was more of his music he could share with us all but I am thankful for all that he did.

Yes Gregg was fantastic. Without Gregg the Allman Brothers may have made it because of the mover and inspiration Duane was. But it wouldn't be the same band.
I love Gregg's take on Tuesdays Gone. Just as good as Ronnie singing it.

Yes, it doesn't seem like 4 years have passed. I have been spinning Gregg Allman Live...Back To Macon Jan 14 2014.

@peach-headI had that on earlier too. Laid Back tonight. Gregg always said that one is his baby. It is a fine album.

The day Gregg died, it was the first day of the local Cajun/Blues festival. All the bands and performers paid there respects in some fashion to Gregg including Robbie Kreiger's band opening with One Way Out that had the crowd on its feet.
Rock In Peace Mr. Allman. Your music and your vibe will live forever.

Just listened to "Rain". God, I love that song. I missed it by one night years ago when they did it at The Beacon.
Everything in Moderation. Including Moderation.

I almost forgot until I received my email from Alan Paul's Low Down and Dirty.
I had to spin The Gregg Allman Tour album 😊

A friend was in town and dragged us all down to the Elbow Room in Ft Lauderale. Not my favorite place to be on a Saturday, but there was a music fest along the beach. I started to realize I was hearing a lot of Gregg Allman tunes, and then got a call from a friend to see if I'd heard. Even though it wasn't a surprise, it was still a bummer. Cancer sucks.
Inspired me to make this a not long afterwards.

@porkchopbob. Nice animation. Those bubbles or water drops were fun to look at on the album while listening to Laid Back and twisting a doobie. The Laid Back art was interesting and spacy back in 1973 when the album came out. No question Laid Back was Gregg:s masterpiece. Also interesting it was out and on the charts the same time the Allman Brothers best selling album was out too.
Listened to Chuck Leavell interview last night and Chuck was brought in to aid in Gregg's solo album which led to him getting a call from Phil Walden telling him to come to Phil's office right away. Chuck said he thought he had messed up something so was a bit concerned when he went into Phil's office but when he walked through the door there with Phil were Gregg, Dickey, Butch, Jaimoe and Berry and Phil says " Would you like to join the Allman Brothers?" And Chuck instantly said " Yes!" Chuck was 20 years old and now in one a the most popular rock bands in American. Chuck also said they let him step forward on Brothers and Sisters and his solos on Jessica and Jelly Jelly are two he is very proud of and the album came out and went straight to number one and stayed for five weeks on top.

I don't listen to Brothers and Sisters as much as Eat A Peach, At Fillmore East or Laid Back. I must say Gregg's vocals are excellent on Jelly, Jelly and Gregg's organ solo also is very good. Chuck's solo is stunning. 20 years old and instantly one of the best rock/blues piano players out of the gate. Lamar, Butch and Jaimoe are solid and unique and Dickey's solo is Dickey. Dickey had his own style and here it is on full display. Nobody sounds like Dickey.
