How about that! Guess that is why Devon didn't get it. Several times in interviews Devon said Gregg had 43 guitars when he passed away and left all of them to him.

I remember during the Chuck/Lamar lineup Gregg often had a black LP for Wasted Words and Done Somebody Wrong.

But I also remember a Strat or a guitar with a metal body and winged headstock. Name began with a V. Can't remember it at the moment.

Veleno.  I played one in a shop in FL. Very heavy, much heavier than a Travis Bean.

@aiq Yep that is the brand. During the Chuck/Lamar lineup Gregg played guitar behind Dickey's slide on Wasted Words and Done Somebody Wrong and the Veleno was one he used. It had a headstock like a Dean. V shaped.

And I remember Gregg playing the black Les Paul but I didn't know Clapton gave it to him. It's strange Gregg would leave the guitar with someone as a gift since it was a gift to him from such a famous person.

But Danny Toler sold the Les Paul Dickey gave him and it's the Les Paul Dickey played on At Fillmore East.  I presume Toler needed the money. Wasn't that long afterwards that we found out about his illness.

@bobkaufman That sounds about right I suppose for a Les Paul custom given to Gregg Allman by Eric Clapton and it sat in someone house for 40 years.

The Veleno thing made me curious.  I said they were heavier than a Bean but that may not be right as the Veleno originals were hollow.

I played it at Breck Music in FL where our drummer worked.  I just remember it being heavy.
