I love this guitar. When I interviewed Gregg in January 2002 I asked him about it. He didn't say much because he wanted to go on about his collection of guitars and discuss his rig, but here ya go.

Arlene: How did The Gregg Allman Signature Melissa® model acoustic guitar come about?

Gregg Allman: Washburn approached me to do that guitar. I had a little bit to do with shaping that guitar out.

P.S. I hung that ad on my wall at the time it came out. Only one store here in Maryland had it, and they kept it in a locked glass case. The Melissa inlay is just gorgeous. I remember the guitar being very pricey too.
