sorry i didn't write down setlist....there was an opening act. guy played acoustic because it was quiet enough not to disturb the play downstairs Annie

man....snowy out there. show got moved from the theatre to egyptian room because the play annie was there. and because of annie they couldn't play until it was over so it didn't start until 10:30. there was no intermission and they played until 1:00 and that was past time they were allowed so i think think got fined. then snowy ride home.

Wow. What a bizarre bunch of events.

Was the show good?

I seem to remember some Phil and Friends shows in the Nokia in NYC that received complaints from the theater next door. I think "The Lion King" was playing and the parents complaint about the smell of pot.

You are forgetting at least "No Reward".

The show was great as always. Just got home at 5:45 am. What is normally a 2 and a 1/2 hour drive took almost 5 hours. It was a nasty trip home.

The one complaint I have is that there were a lot of a-holes there tonight. Very aggressive and rude. From that standpoint it was a sub par show. It's not good when you keep getting into a groove only to be pushed from behind by some drunk trying to get closer....over and over.

yea i agree. alot of aggressive drunks. very young small security team was having a little trouble up front. i think with the late show start the drinking was kicking in by 10:30. it was weird sitting there waiting until 9:30 before that solo guy took the stage. does anyone know what his name was? i was outside smoking a cigarette when i realized that Annie was just finishing (i could hear it out side....Tomorrow) and put 2&2 together.

edit

also thought a Mule show i would get away from that blue dress story but noooooo the opening act guy had to mention the blue dress.

Don't get me wrong, the show was great, but it's the closest I have come to hitting someone at a show. So that type of stuff hurt it a bit for me. In the end though it was nice to see a unique Mule show with Scofield.

Let me add that with the show ending on Sunday morning it was beautiful to get "Heaven Hill>Amazing Grace>Heaven Hill" as the encore. It was even better when we got the "Soul Serenade" tease. THAT is why I love the Mule.

Well the setlist looks great on paper.

I'm beginning to get concerned about the a$$hole factor in Charlottesville. I did tell someone to STFU at the Jerry Garcia Symphony Celebration. That was an outdoor show. Hopefully this crowd is going for the music and will have a little more class.

It was an early sell out.

I hope the crowd is made up more of stoners than drunks. That always makes a difference in crowd behavior.

I'm listening to the 2/23 show from the Belly Up in Aspen. (17 minute All Along the Watchtower encore.) It's an audience recording and folks are talking during the intro. They focus more when Warren sings, but it is a slow, dynamically quiet beginning.

thanks mike

that took some big balls to get up there with just an acoustic guitar in that situation. I sent the guy a message on his website telling him just that and good job.
