Gotta Give A Thank You To Warren Haynes For Keeping Ticket Prices So Low

Hey, I don't have inside information, but largely due to past history I think that Warren has some huge influence here. I can't think of any other explanation. Why? I'm in El Paso now and not too many touring acts pass through this town. But Gov't Mule is coming to Albuquerque on February 21st 2024 and Albuquerque is 266 miles north of El Paso. I need my Mule fix so I'm making a road trip out of it and to make it stress free, got a Best Western for two nights, both the night before and night of the show. But this I really can't believe: They just went on sale yesterday. I was up early today and because of price I chose a side section. It's a small venue. I am 22 rows from the stage, but RIGHT on the inner aisle, great sight line: $25 each for two tickets!! A total of $87 with all fees. And I literally could walk across the aisle and they go to $45 per ticket. And the tickets TOP OUT at $45 which in 2023 is just unbelievable. Especially when you consider that it is commonplace now to pay $1,000 or more to see Springsteen or Taylor Swift. AND I'D RATHER SEE THE MULE than either of those, in fact you couldn't drag me to a Taylor Swift show.
As mentioned, I happen to think that Mr. Warren Haynes has a LOT to do with this. Hell, a dishwasher could probably afford $25 if they REALLY wanted to see The Mule. And it just so happens that Mr. Haynes gives a sh*t about that person. It follows that the three other guys in the Mule are right there with him.

Yup, I have seen the Mule a couple of dozen times and only once paid over $100 for a ticket which was for 5th row center seats for the recent PF Darkside show in Boston.
It is even more amazing to me as I live an hour west of Boston so I know the Mule could charge more for tickets in this area.
He cares about his fans and gives them a great show for reasonable ticket prices.
One of the reasons the Mule is my favorite touring band.

Saw Duane Betts & Palmeto Hotel the other night 25$. Very small venue in Gainsville FL, Heartwood Soundstage. Couldn't have been more than 150 +/-. Great show, new songs, Blue Sky and Duane does Jerry "Althea" 7min+ 😛

I saw Duane Betts & Palmetto Hotel here in Harrisburg, PA a little over a month ago and I think tickets were $20 and as with you, it was a small crowd/venue, but man what a great show

@jack_frost Caught the group @Nectar's this past July and more than a little disappointed: drummer had no feel for nuance and bassist not much better. Could chalk it up to relative inexperience on the road, but still, the rhythm section undermined otherwise largely stellar work by Duane himself, Stachela and Ginty, to the point I might not go see them again.

@DOVETAIL I would say that if you disliked what you saw it would be silly to go again. I would say that about anything. I was disappointed that it was Pedro Arevalo instead of Berry Oakley Jr. on bass

@jack_frost with ya on Oak Jr!...his soft touch on the LP--much like Drummer Greenwell's--helped make it one my favorite records of the year!

Warren says he began to really focus on slide guitar when he met Dickey.
