Thanks for posting jzfunk. I'd been wondering what was Aldrich going to do. I hope this is the vehicle that pushes him and Glen over the top. 😉

First U.S. show is right here in San Jose. I wonder where they are playing, but my bet is it'll be The Rockbar. Saw Michael Schenker there recently, only time I've been there. By far not my favorite place to see a show...........no seating to speak of, and the sightlines are really poor (ceiling supports block views of the stage unless you get up close). Thanks for the info though.

Update: I just checked at www.rockbartheater.com and sure 'nuff, that's where they'll be. For $22 I might go despite the fact that I don't like the club. Just to see Glenn Hughes. I haven't even heard of the other two guys in the band.

Rob, Doug Aldrich is a great hard rock player. If you like Michael Schenker, you should be in for a treat with Aldrich. Grin He and the guy, Joel Hoekstra, who took his place in Whitesnake are two of the best of the new out there.

Thanks, Man! Only other time I've seen Hughes was with Deep Purple @ Cal Jam, 1974. Might be just a few less people @ Rockbar on 3/2.............

I agree about Joel and Doug being two of the better hard rock guitar players out there. Unfortunatley not alot of that type of music is being made.(hard classic rock soundig type guitar playing.) Those two guys do it well. I have seen Joel play twice with TSO. He recently joined Whitesnake when Doug left. I think Joel might be a pretty good fit with David Coverdale if he decides to do a new Whitesnake material. I have heard Joels new solo release and it s pretty decent. His tone seems to lean toward a classic rock sound and has a nice riffy grove. Doug seemed to lean a little more metal, but thats just my opinion. Both are very talented.

Hey jzfunk the new Winery Dogs kicks *ss. Richie Kotzen is one of the best guitfiddler/singer/songwriters period. What can you say about Portnoy and Sheehan? There is hope for rock in this band. The music is great and they are such talented musicians.

Glenn's vocals are still there, I saw him do a tune at the Classic Rock Awards show (?) recently where he sang to a solo acoustic. He nailed some notes. Sammie Hagar sang with a new band. I think the guy from Extreme (Nuno?) was the lead player and they sounded good too. Joe Perry got a Maestro Award and played with Billy Gibbons. Whatever the show was it had some R&R Girth.

I think I am going to check out the NYC show. Too bad - I would have like to have heard something from the Black Sabbath - Seventh Star album.

Yeah that would be pretty cool! That is a very good album, some strong material. I think I have a live solo show of Glenn's were he plays No Stranger To Love. Kinda off subject, speaking of Sab, but they're next one ,Eternal Idol was very good. I have a version of that release were Ray Gillen sang on it. I also use to have a live show from the 80's were he sang with BS live. I cant remember why he never appeared on the official release . Tony Martin was the one that took over after that and his vocals were used in that.
