Just doing a you-tube "Thang" and I stumbled across this gem. This guy was some player, a lot of us remember him as a good 'ol country boy who sang and had some hits on the radio back in the day. But credit where credit is due, all I can say is wow.....
Yes for sure Mr Campbell was a very good picker and well respected by the other top guns in Nashville too.
His work as a member of the Wrecking Crew far outweighs his significant country role. Hardly any hit from the west coast in the 60s and 70s that did not have Glen on guitar.
Jim Gordon (Derek & the Dominos) was also a first call drummer for the Wrecking Crew.
Glen was a tremendous player for sure... thanks for posting V.
The last two solo's shown are just incredible examples of "clean" playing and the beauty of a Stratocaster guitar.
