Gimme A T For Texas

I've always loved the guitar interplay for this song. The Ol' Oakie version is one of my fav's. This one is pre Steve, but has Hughie and Billy join them on it as the 1st encore pre Freebird. I love the Outlaws and dig it. It starts at the 51:26 mark.

Skynyrd killed this version. They really knew how to cover a tune. This one is my personal favorite. Hard to drive slow when this song is playing.

This is a Jimmie Rodgers cover, isn't it?
Everything in Moderation. Including Moderation.

I’m not 100% sure, but I believe Gary is responsible for the arrangements of the Skynyrd covers. “Call Me The Breeze”, “Same Old Blues” and “T For Texas” are all Gary’s unique arrangements. They allow for Ed King and Steve Gaines to showcase their talents. Ed in “The Breeze” and Steve in “T”.

Yes it is. Hard to believe how they transformed this song into a blazing live tune.

Here's the Lynyrd Skynyrd with Steve Gaines version that was on One More From The Road. It's nice to be able to put the guitarist with the sound. I always thought Gary did the slide work on the song, but it was Steve, Great song, It can be found at the 40 min mark, brought to you by the King Of Beers and some gold?

Close but the one on One More From The Road was recorded at the Fox in Hot' Lanta

Of course, I never meant to imply it was the exact version from that night, It's ~10 month's after One More From The Road was recorded over 3 nights at the Fox. It's the exact grouping of personnel with Steve and without Billy and Hughie. I did reread my post and see where it could be taken literally.
Who knows which version from the 3 nights was used or if the leads were reworked as Allen did with his Freebird solo on the live album.
I sometimes wonder why I post at all?
