Enjoyed the video Jszfunk. There is a video on YouTube of Gary playing a red Strat on The Messiah Will Come Again. I don't know how to link it with the phone but check it out. Gary does a few runs that are the fastest guitar playing I've ever seen. And it's clean too. No clams (bad notes) or notes run together.

I saw him once and in the states and like him or not Gary Moore could be a monster. Eddie Van Halen or Steve Via or any other hot shredder type player couldn't put anything on Gary when he was younger. He got over weight and some say a bit sloppy at times toward the end. I think he was 58 when he died in Spain. Turns out he was drinking heavy his last few years.

Yeah,Gary was a monster of a player. I am more of a fan of his heavy rock stuff than his blues.

The Messiah Will Come

Murder in the skies

Johnny Boy

Wow Murder in the Sky was hot. I'm not a huge metal fan but some of it I dig. Ice Cream Man by Van Halen is another. Gary loved the blues and wanted to be a noted blues player according to some of his interviews. Gary said some of the blues greats with whom he had played told him he was too spastic and he said he was working on his vibrato and trying to calm down and play time. Gary would rip off a fast run ( shredding ) and guys like Albert King while impressed with Gary's advanced technical skills didn't warm to olaying the blues that way.

As to Metal and hard rock, Gary was a monster. Eddie Van Halen or any other guitar player could but anything on Gary. Eddie, I'm sure, would never claim he could out gun Gary Moore. If he did as Eddie said about Jimmy Page some years ago, Eddie would be BSing.

Eddie Van Halen or any other metal or hard rock player COULDN'T put anything on Gary.

Sorry 'bout that. My spell checker on this phone changes my words sometimes when I hit post and makes a sentence unreadable.

Great clip JZ, Gary and Robbo did a great version of “Still in love it’s you” to follow up Emerald. I love Moore’s blues work, very tasty.
