Free Charles Oakley

It's Jimmy Dolan again.
Jimmy, Jimmy, Jimmy.
There's just some things you don't do in NYC.
You don't kick The Allman Brothers Band out of The Beacon.
And you don't provoke The Oak.

Been following it on ESPN this morning. Per the article I read on Yahoo Sports, one guy in the area said that Oakley did nothing to provoke anyone. Steven A. Smith said on ESPN this morning that he spoke with Oakley @ 1:00 AM this morning and Oakley admitted shoving security personnel. He said however that he simply attended the game, was there for "4-1/2 minutes and was asked to leave." He added that he did nothing UNTIL he was confronted by security.

i was embarrassed to call myself(after over 50 years) a knicks fan last night.Oak is a bit rough around the edges, but a good guy and Dolan has treated Oak disrespectfully since he retired. This is not how you treat a beloved former knick.
And,this stupid rule, that if you approach or talk to Dolan at any event, he'll have you removed. His security are not the great guys we all knew in thew Beacon in pre dolan days-they serve their master and his rules & anyone not abiding his rules is out.Dolan is a lowlife.

sad day for The Garden and The Knick organization. I don't know whose to blame here but Dolan's track record is not a good one . Oak says he's innocent, but he's an angry but healthy looking 6'9" in the videos and pictures we've seen connected to the incident . When he took a seat near Dolan anything would have been possible based on their documented volatile relationship.

I'd be angry too if every time I walked into the Garden (where I worked for years for the Dolans), security was alerted and I was told that I couldn't move about the arena freely. Dolan has such an irrational beef with Oakley. It's shameful.

What Oak did after he was confronted by security was wrong. We wil have to see and hear what really happened before that. I always liked him as a player. Watching the Knicks battle the Pacers in the 90's was always entertaining.
Everyone has a plan, till you get punched in the face,

Especially when Reggie Miller shoved those 25 4th-qtr points down Spike Lee's throat, then gave him the choke sign

The Oak should have just sat down in his seat. It's clear Jimmy Dolan sicked his private security on Oak.
The Oak wasn't the most talented player.
But nobody played with more heart than Oakley.
Sometimes it's about not quitting, and giving 110% every time that makes you a champion.
Jimmy Dolan should stop acting like a baby and stop carrying a grudge against The Oak.
The Oak would make a perfect coach for these Knicks.
Oak can teach them what heart and desire to win means.
That includes you too Jimmy.

Dolan just fired his chief of security.
The more I see this and learn,Dolan created an environment or directly told his guys to harass Oak.Oak was wrong, but perhaps justified, particularly given his claim that he followed instructions from police but not the roid rage security Dolan hires at all his venues including the beacon.I'm sure more will emerge but the knicks are losing,as they have on and off the court.

Oak did shove a few of the security guards after he was confronted by 6 of them. Dragging him out of the Garden? totally uncalled for and disrespectful to a Knicks veteran. Dolan looked for a chance to stick it to Oak and he got his way. I have been a Knicks fan since 1968 and this season is an embarrassment. I love the way Dolan deflected any blame for the team's performance onto Phil Jackson.Banning the Oak from the Garden? Just baby boy dolan continuing the feud.
