First Album, First Song, Side One- Favorites?

Don't Want You No More/Not My Cross to Bear has always struck me as a notable encapsulation of the ABB's then-current talents but also provides a glimpse into the future of the band. To me, it sounds as fresh today as it did then.
Led Zep's Good Times Bad Times is another "introduction song" that seems to be a concentration of the band members talents and still sounds vital.
Any other First Album, First Song, Side One favorites?

Purple haze Jimi Hendrix Experience Are you Experienced
I want to hold your hand Beatles Meet the Beatles
I saw her standing there Beatles Introducing the Beatles

Both of those are perfect examples. A few others that busted out of the stall in full rodeo:
Take the Highway
I Aint the One
Suite Judy Blue Eyes

Gimme Shelter

Black Crowes-Twice As Hard
Guns N' Roses - Welcome To The Jungle

Chicago Transit Authority - Introduction

Chicago Transit Authority - Introduction
Excellent choice!

Black Sabbath's first album starts with the the sounds of rain, thunder, a bell tolling, and then the song "Black Sabbath" - chills!!!
"Break On Through" was the first song on the Doors first album, also a good way to start their career.

Mountain - Mississippi Queen
Van Halen - Runnin' With the Devil
Joe Cocker - Dear Landlord
Grand Funk Railroad - Are You Ready
The Pretenders - Precious

Chicago Transit Authority - Introduction
The ultimate

Taj Mahal

Electric Flag A Long Time Comin'

Paul Kossoff - Back Street Crawler - Tuesday Morning
Is there a hotter guitar riff intro than this one?

Both of those are perfect examples. A few others that busted out of the stall in full rodeo:
Take the Highway
I Aint the One
Suite Judy Blue Eyes
Great examples. Take The Highway, perfect example of MTB.
Junior Wells & Buddy Guy " Snatch It Back and Hold It "
Wishbone Ash " Blind Eye "

GREAT call on Taj Mahal’s Leavin’ Trunk!!!!

A couple more occurred
I Can't Wait Much Longer - Trower
Golden Road (to Unlimited Devotion) - Dead
My Sunday Feeling - Tull

The list is endless -- my 2 favorites so far, Introduction, & Mississippi Queen
I would also add Funkadelic's Maggot Brain
Long Red, from Mountain's 1972 The Road Goes Ever On live album, comes to mind -- Corky's drums just POP outta the speakers when you put the needle in the groove.

Already mentioned but megaton explosions deep into the psyche-
Doors- Break on Through
Hendrix- Purple Haze
Stones- Gimme Shelter
I'll add Sweet Jane from Lou Reed's live Rock 'n Roll Animal

Lots of amazing songs here!!
I'll nitpick a little - the original post made the question extra challenging by asking not only what were some great album-opening songs, but that they were on that band's FIRST album.
So, while I love "Gimme Shelter," it was not on the Stones' first album.

Chicago Transit Authority - Introduction
Ha, great example! I wish that I could take credit for subliminally thinking of that during my initial post, but I probably can't.
