Favorite Guitarists

Well, as I've mentioned before, I follow the Sea of Tranquility page on Youtube, and each month, they do a different music theme. Could be favorite vocalists, favorite albums, etc. This month, the theme is Favorite Guitarists. One player per day. Not easy to wittle it down to just 30, but I think I have a pretty solid list. I have all the way to #4 with just 3 left. Now, mine aren't really ranked, just players that I'm a fan of. IAlong with the players, I also included 3 albums they're on, along with one song since that's the rules of this theme. There's plenty who aren't in the list, but you can't include them all. Interesting list. All of yours so far are certainly fine guitar players.
You have three left and I assume Jimi Hendrix will be 3, 2 or 1 since he always is number 1 or 2 on every list I've seen since 1971. But as you said, yours aren't really ranked.
Dickey Betts is my favorite and Porkchopbob said on here not long ago that Dickey was his favorite too.
I'd have to think for awhile to come up with 30 then what do you do if you realize you like 2:or 3 more? Then remove some to add those you forgot?:)

Love so much guitar music from Django and Freddy Greene and on down but a list would be pointless for me as Duane is so far above and beyond all comers for me anyway so like I said pointless. But interesting to read.

That’s how I feel about Jimi - so far above & beyond all comers
then Duane & Dickey, both as a singular entity in the ABB, & individually, but esp the former
love everything people like Clapton, Beck Page did in that period (late 60s-early 70s)

@tenorsfan This closing night version of Done Somebody Wrong is a version I hadn't noticed until recently although One Way Out from that show is on Eat A Peach.
If you haven't head this, it's a blistering slide guitar solo from Duane Allman. Probably the hottest slide solo I've ever heard. Duane was burning ROCKET FUEL ⛽

Danny Kirwan doesn't make too many lists these days [Peter Green either] but he's still one of my favourites. Still feel Duane's ears perked up when he heard these guys, especially Danny.

I hear that robertdee - this version of JBGoode has gotta be the greatest Chuck cover of them all!🎼🎸🎶 thx for posting
have also always adored the takes of ROBeethoven by Mountain & ELO
good mention of Danny Kirwan - those players in Canned Heat, Henry Vestine & Alan Wilson, come to mind (also Bob “Bear” Hite) - their live take of Bullfrog Blues is Burn-Down

Steve Cropper
Jeff “Skunk” Baxter

🎸so many greats out there🎸

a few that haven't been mentioned
Leslie West
Andy Powell
Marc Ford
Jorma Kaukonen
Mick Taylor
Keith Richards
Neil Young
Michael Bloomfield
Roy Buchanan
Someday, everything's gonna be different
When I paint my masterpiece.

So many greats & just as you mentioned both Mick & Keef, 🎸may I mention Ted Turner along w/Andy🎶 - Pilgrimage is on as we speak
same Lonnie Mack, he & Roy, 2 (of a kind) blazing blues-rock players
ALVIN LEE

"Is that a real poncho or is that a Sears poncho?"

Well, my #1 is a guy I've been a huge fan of since I was a little kid. He was my first concert at 5 years old on April 25, 1990. Just 2 days after I turned 5. Have seen him live 11 times now!!! Love most of the music he's done, although a couple of his mid 70s albums aren't my favorites, but not terrible either. Talking about the great Eric Clapton!!!!
Albums: Journeyman, From The Cradle, Reptile
Song: Old Love (24 Nights Version)
