I just listened to the Randy Brecker sit in from the 2011 Beacon - Spanish Key, Desdemona, Liz Reed - about 45 minutes of mostly jazzy ABB, and it all killed. The jazz stuff is my favorite side of the band, and this is an easy way for me to ask an expert group for stuff I may not know about yet.
One I love is 10-1-2008 Afro Blue with Steve Molitz. I love that song and they do a great job with it. Some of your favorites?
Anything with Bill Evans.... the one coming to mind immediately is 7-27-11 Liz Reed.
He was great on Dreams whenever he played it with them, really went out.
Earlier this week I watched a youtube of a very mellow Watchtower from summer 2012 with him and Carlos, it's worth checking out.

Long Beach '07 (?) (It was the first year of Moogis, when before the Beacon they ran audio's of the previous summer tour) with Jimmy Cobb, they went into a long jam on something, I don't remember what but it was fun. There was a Beacon Desdemona with Jimmy Cobb too, probably around '04-06.
Whenever the Juke Horns came to play it seemed there was an extra spark of spontaneity in the music, the whole band seemed more into it, not sure if it's jazz, but the ensemble would often lift off.
Your topic inspires me to do a little research on this matter this weekend !
When I read the topic the 3/21/11 Brecker show was what came to mind. That was a fun one and I am usually less interested in the jazzy shows. That same run they had Scofield on 3/18 and while he is a jazz guy at times, that show rocked!

The 3.14.09 show is one of my favorites, missed that night. "In A Silent Way" is one of my favorites, but a horn on "Dreams" is always more than welcome.
The Miles covers are always great, but there was a lights out "Mountain Jam" from Wanee 2011 with Kebbi Williams on sax and it's on another level. I remember being absolutely blown away while witnessing it, it gets out there. One of the best Wanee sets from the ABB (Taj Mahal, Junior Mack)
"My Favorite Things" from the Gatlinburg recordings. If Duane had lived, there's no telling where he would have led the band, but with all due respect to the survivors, I think they would have hit some jaw-dropping heights.

Only happened right at the end, But "Dusk 'til Dawn" had some pretty good jazz in the middle of it.
John Scofield 2011 at the Beacon run. Walked out looking like my high school English teacher; killed it on IMOER and Mountain Jam
Dreams with Bill Evans on sax on 3/14/11, or Maurice Brown on trumpet on 3/17/13, anytime Chuck sat in on piano for something like Desdemona - 8/5/01 is a good example. Roy Haynes sat in on drums a few times and that was really cool. They played Afro Blue with him on 3/11/06 and 6/26/06, and you couldn't help being blown away by his energy. He was 81 at the time. Probably the oldest guest musician they ever had other than Pinetop Perkins.

The one with Trombone Shorty was excellent. That was March 19, 2014.
Have to mention Dickey & Jack playing "High Falls" in the late-1990s. I was so glad to hear that song get dusted off.

Twp thumbs up for shorty; andRoy Haynes is a marvel. I saw him at the beacon for Sonny Rollins' 80th show. He was around 90 and looked like he could beat the crap out of me
