Farm Aid 2019

Everyone has a plan, till you get punched in the face,

Going to air on Saturday on AXS.

Went to the one in 2013 in Saratoga Springs and it was awesome. Saw the last live performance by Pete Seeger, historic!
If it comes to your neck of the woods make sure you catch it. Great music for a great cause.

My daughter has worked as a volunteer the last two years but she can't go this year.

looking forward to the AXS broadcast tonight!!

It also can be watched live on Youtube

Thank you for the link. I really enjoyed the last part of Promise of the Real, now I'm looking forward to Bonnie, Neil and Willie...

I agree about the Promise of The Real. Very impressive set.
Everyone has a plan, till you get punched in the face,

Promise of the Real has become a great band on their own, not just with Willie or Neil.

I've never been a Mellencamp fan but I really enjoyed his Farm Aid set. He has a good stage presence and a great band.

Yeah, John is good in concert and his band is real tight. The only gripe I have about him are the setlist. Never really mixes it up . I feel some of his strongest stuff is from the last 10-12 yrs, and barely sees the light of day .

I heard him say in his many interviews, that he's tired of playing Jack n Diane and all his hits, but that's what most people come to hear, so be it.
It would be interesting to take a poll of fans at a show and see the material they want to hear. Are the crowds more of the casual ,"I like the hits", or the hard core who really know the artists music and deep stuff.
Not just JM but anyone

I've never been to a Mellencamp show so I don't know if this is typical, but in the Farm Aid set the part I enjoyed the most was when the violinist and accordion player did an instrumental medley. No one else was on stage. Even though the melodies were from hit songs the performance was very different.

Yeah, Troy and Miram have been doing that for a few. Its pretty cool.

Seems like Farm Aid should support government run farms. Most of its supporters seem to think the government should run everything else. Why should farming be any different?
