Everyone has a plan, till you get punched in the face,

This sounds pretty cool. My only concern is during this particular time frame EVH was a complete wreck and damn near dead so I wonder how coherent he was in interviews and discussions. And photos we've already seen of him during this phase of his addiction are sad to view in my opinion.
However, maybe we'll see a man starting to recover and seek the treatment he so desperately needed given it includes 2005 and '06. Also, seeing the actual 5150 studio and the various equipment, guitars, amps, etc. should be very neat for any VH fan.

That was interesting. No question Van Halen is the Beatles of hard rock. The top of them all and it's been that way for years. ALL of their albums have gone Platinum, many several million copies. Our favorite band only had three and not any since 1973. ( not counting the compilation album of old Capricorn tracks released in 1991 that sold over 2 million).
In the first one it looked like Eddie had his Frankinstrat. A Fender Strat Eddie heavily modified to make it more powerful and Eddie added a Gibson humbucker pickup. Eddie loved the fat tone of a Les Paul but he didn't like the guitar. The first time I saw Van Halen, Eddie did play a Goldtop Les Paul on one song.
Eddie also added a dummy pickup and switch to his modified Strat to confuse people who may want to do the same to their Strat.
I hate to say, but after digging around on the net, it does look as if Eddie is in a big medical struggle against throat cancer which apparently Eddie blamed on putting his personally made medal and copper picks in his mouth when he did is unique two hand hammer on or tapping technique. But apparently his doctors blame it years of cigarette smoking. Eddie developed tongue cancer in 2000 but was cured. Throat cancer appeared in 2019. But Eddie just recently posted his new guitars and amp lineup for people to buy. Including a guitar that looks like a Stratocaster including the headstock but has EVH on it instead of Fender. I read some time back Eddie had a deal with Fender so these must be it. Eddie said nothing about medical problems or the band being over.
But David Lee Roth says he has no idea what is going on and he knows the same as everyone as he too only reads little snippets in the media. And there was talk about Michael Anthony returning but Anthony hasnt heard from anyone from the band in over a year. Apparently only Eddie and Alex run the band and they sparingly contact other band personnel.

If you have a chance, the interview with Andrew, he describes that period with ED . I guess one can make their own judgement from there.
THE STORY OF THE “5150 VAULT” . He also talks about that period at the 97:12 mark

Wow jtsfunk!! There is the Les Paul Goldtop. And the neck humbucker is missing. Ed has the switch straghtdown which means he was using the bridge pickup. I don't remember noticing that pickup hole when I saw that early Van Halen show.
Do you think THAT is the Gibson humbucker that Ed put in the Stratocaster he heavily modified and called The Frankenstrat? One or two of the pickups on Ed's Fender Stratocaster heavily modified, were dummies and so were a couple of switches and knobs. Not wired at all. After Ed moved on to Hamer and Kramer superstats, Ed revealed what he did and the dummy stuff was to fool imitators.
Ed liked the fat tone of a Gibson Les Paul but not the guitar. Ed liked a Fender Stratocaster better but thought the tone needed fattening up so he became Dr. Frakenstien. I know jtsfunk being a huge Van Halen fans knows about Eddie's early guitars thoughts, I'm touching on this for any who didnt know.
You know more players play modified parts guitars than one would think. Just because it says Fender Telecaster on the headstock doesn't mean a Tele at the store will sound like that. Joe Bonamassa is playing a Fender Nocaster a lot now and it has a humbucker in it which means the body was routed out. Joe said he doesn't believe in making such a major modification to a guitar but will play one that has been routed out before he bought it.

Ed has the switch straghtdown which means he was using the bridge pickup
Pretty much his only option. LOL

Is this ever seeing the light of day? I think it was 2 years ago this guy was interviewed about this and a year ago that Eddie sued to get it blocked.

In the first interview I posted he talks about it. It did come out, he mentioned and some people have it. They asked him if he was going to re release it or something to that point and he gave a political answer and that was it.
I did see the court documents on line the other day, but cant find them now.
Everyone has a plan, till you get punched in the face,

Yeah CanadianMule. Eddie only option because apparently the neck pickup in Eddie's Les Paul is in his Fender Stratocaster.
