Well, his new tour was just announced today. He's playing nearly 60 shows in 2017, including Dallas on Feb. 3, so I hope I can make it. He's also putting measures in place to combat the scalpers who are so rampant these days. I hope it works, and that we real fans can get them instead. He'll have no opening act at the shows, and is gonna play 2 full sets of music with an intermission. Sounds like a great show!! Not sure if anyone in here is a fan, but it's great that he cares for his fans, and will be playing some long shows!!

He just massacred "Ain't Wastin' Time No More" in the All My Friends show. But, to each his own. If you dig him, I hope you get to see him. Me, I could care less.

I hear Allmanfan21. I like Eric Church. He's the best of the bro country bunch. He's written a passle of great songs, has a great band that he actually recorded his last album with. His drummer is one of the best IMO. What Alan Woods conviently fails to mention that Eric's version of "Win, Lose or Draw" was one of the highlights of the Gregg Tribute besides Jack Pearson's playing. Haters gonna hate, but Eric's earned his popularity the old fashioned way - writing great song, putting together a great band and touring his tail off. Look forward to seeing him. And I wish him continued success. 😛

I feel like his image with the cap and shades is something that is one of those Nashville marketing things.

I can get past the image, but I just don't care for his voice. It is hard to say if he writes good songs or not, because I can't get past his voice.

That said, I wish him success because it's rare for anyone in country to actual spend any time writing their own songs hopefully he uses his own band in the studio as well.

X2. I totally am on board with this post.

The guy has real talent.

My opinion - I thought he did great versions of AWTNM & WLOD. I especailly thought the WLOD was wonderfully done with a lot of passion. The lead vocal + the background harmony singers was one of the highlights for me of the night. That's a song that is probably one of Gregg's more overlooked tunes, but it was great to hear it included with the big band.

I also thought Martina McBride's version of Scott Boyer's "All My Friends" was great & true to form. Beautiful song sung by a beautiful lady.

I thought his performance on the Gregg Tribute was absolutely standout! He just grabbed AWTNM by the balls IMO. Not heard much of his own stuff, but Mr Misunderstood really worked for me.....just my 2 bobs worth.

To be fair, just watched the video. Would not say "massacred", but I knew from the first notes he sang that it was not going to be my cup of tea. Imho, that song needs some growl, soul and while I'll give Mr. Church credit for being a fan of GA's, too much of that country vocal "twang" for this guy....
Cool
