did you guys read alan pauls article on duanes guitars...???its great my question is did anyone keep track of the songs they played with the guitars and what nights,,i bought the instant lives so,,,,,In alans article butch said when he heard derek solo on dreams with the goldtop it was very emotional....I wanna know which night it was,,,,is there any thread about it???
well I saw the24th warren played the tobacco burst mostly and the 25th Derek played it I was just trying to figure out what Dreams Butch was talking about in the article
on 10/24 derek was using the gold top les paul for most of the night. he had it cranked and the sound was amazing.
They swapped the cherry top and tobacco burst every night more or less.
Impossible to know which night Butch was talking about. He had no idea and even Derek wasn't sure, though he recalled the moment.
Though Butch referenced it to "one of Galadrielle's guitars," it was actually the goldtop that Duane played on Dreams and that he was talking about... and, of course, those original GT pickups are now in the cherry....
But it doesn't really matter... the fact is, over the last 4 nights, all three of Duane's guitars were on stage and were much played and anyone who was there can attest that they changed the dynamics of the whole thing and that they sounded great.
