He might have been using Butch's drum kit or part of his setup

Now begins the research I suppose ... when did Butch add it ? Is there a story behind it ?

It was on Butch's drums for a while. It's clear on the 40th Anniversary DVD.

I assume Butch just wanted everyone to Wake the **** UP! Too many sleeping people on this planet.

I can't seem to find how to pull up my private messages on my phone so I can't give you a date. I had noticed that message on Butch's bass drum head. Butch was posting on the forum occasionally. I thought why not cut to the chase & ask Butch himself via private message. I did not get a response. I began to get self conscious. Who am I to meddle in his affairs? I did not want to invade his personal space. How often does he check his pms? Why would he answer some random person? I was just curious. Months later, there it was. A reply. He said it referred to the political climate in general. He said that he had purchased a small place in the south of France, & if the climate worsened, that was where he was going. I was honored that he would take the time & effort to answer my question as I did not know the man personally. RIP brother Butch...

Did Duane have any timpanis set up like Butch would have?

Duane's wife Cameron (who is Jimmy Herring's daughter!) painted the drumhead, copying one of Butch's. she sent me a really nice picture of it. I will sure on Insta and Facebook tomorrow.
