Classic Betts, the Western Swing style Dickey grew up on.
I've always thought DB could have been a fairly major country crossover artist at one time had he wanted to go that route because he had one of the purest, natural "country" sounding voices around. And he never even considered himself to be a "real" vocalist to boot from the things I've heard him say in interviews.
Beyond being a great guitarist and writer, he sang that type of music damn convincingly...
The guy was a real talent.
