DICKEY BETTS Tribute Macon GA 2/28

Presale is tomorrow. Can anybody PM me the code? It will be a long shot to make it all the way to Macon but I gotta try!
EDIT: Go to Macon City Auditorium and sign up to be an insider... but with only 2,688 seats this will still be a damn near impossible ticket to get and will sell out days before the "public onsale".

Yes! Would love to know the presale code if anyone has it - Thanks!

Posted by: @stephenmayb they’ll dip into a section of High Falls w/Lamar Jr
Maybe not since "High Falls" is an instrumental and Lamar Jr is a singer, but I get your point. I'm sure it will be an incredible show with some deep cuts groovin', none stop movin'

please! code!

Anybody find the presale code ? I already signed up at macon auditorium

Dig the artwork, thumbs up!
Why such a small venue?
Is it a litmus test for a possible touring ensemble?
Will they market a concert video?
They should've invited Frankie F'n Hannon... He was family and can play a lot of Dickie's stuff just as good, if not better than most <--- (IMHO)

Please share code. Thank you

@joe_the_lurker yeah it was like whack-a-mole, tickets were disappearing faster than I could click on 'em. Weren't a lot released and I barely snagged a pair.
I'm sure there will be plenty of decent seats available during the general sale.

@porkchopbob I ultimately can't afford to go, but I was looking around just to see. Initially, it looked like all of the balcony and most of the floor was for sale so i'm not sure if any tickets will be left for Monday. Everything was gone in about 6 min, but I kept poking around and 13 min in, I legit had second row in my cart, but I like being married, so I threw them back. At least I got close for The Brothers 50 and will now hope for a webcast for this. I'll be there in Spirit!

You could be right, it didn't look like everything was open but it took me a minute to login due to all the traffic so I could have just been late to the very quick party. Usually they save some seats for later but Ticketmaster is a mystery.
The hotel and travel expenses add up if it's not nearby, I hear ya. I skipped The Brothers show since we had moved from NYC a few years prior and we just did a TTB show in Macon the month before that. Also I was at the final Beacon show and a bunch of other 2014 shows so I didn't feel the pressure to go to MSG. But now that I'm in FL this show feels like it might be one of the last gatherings of its kind and I'm in the neighborhood more or less. Looking forward to it.

@porkchopbob: Jealous!! Hoping for a DVD or maybe a live stream (or both).

I'm happy Jaimoe will be there. Jaimoe always had good things to say about Dickey.
As we know even though Duane already had his eye( ear) on Berry Oakley, Jaimoe was introduced to Duane by Phil Walden and Duane jammed with Jaimoe and hired him on the spot making Jaimoe the first musician hired for the Allman Brothers Band. Berry was second then Dickey followed by Butch Trucks and finally Gregg Allman.
I was down at the big music store here yesterday and a salesman I hadn't met and unlike most of the young players who hang around and are into Metallica or Steve Vie (metal bands,) is an Allman Brothers fan.
He told me one of his absolute favorite Dickey solos is on Trouble No More live version on Peach. It's short but every note is perfectly placed and executed and the single finger vibrato is excellent. That Dickey was already very good and polished in 1970/71

I was on Ticketmaster for the general sale. There were over 2500 people ahead of me in the queue. When I finally got in the show was sold out. I'm too old for this sh!t. Trying to go see big acts has gotten too difficult and expensive. Rock and roll has turned me into a grumpy old man. And don't even ask me about flying these days. Sheesh! Get off my lawn!
Have fun at the show!

I have an Airbnb reservation 2 blocks from the auditorium. Will trade for tickets!

I was around 900 in que line..sold out when it was my turn. Stubhub is selling tickets for 6..7..8 hundred dollars. What a shame for real fans.

Will just so happen to be in ATL then for work so this works out beautifully.
Had to bite the bullet and pad someone's pockets on the secondary market though.
100% convinced Ticketmaster purposely holds back tix for later sale and markup to it's ancillary businesses Seat Geek, Stub Hub, etc. regardless of being labeled as PreSale, General or otherwise...
TM went thru all that anti-trust circus but yet still remains a racket

So when will they announce the Saturday show ?

I got 2 tickets in the general public sale, I was 348 in line, scored 2 nice balcony seats in section 204, I like the balcony there, sounds is a little better. $248 total with fees and insurance. Cant believe all of these resale prices. Seats on the row I am on are going for $1100 each, nuts.

It's out of control.

I played this wearing a good pair of headphones last night twice listening carefully to every musician on Dickey's Jessica.
Butch Trucks on drums plus Jaimoe on drums and congas, Chuck Leavell on piano, Lamar Williams on bass, Les Dudek on acoustic guitar and Dickey on lead guitar.
What a wonderful song and melody Dickey shared with us. And the musicianship is letter perfect as they weave through all the changes and melody line.
This is musicianship at its absolute best.
I'm sure the guys playing in Macon know what a great composer and musician Dickey was and will play this and other Dickey songs with extra conviction and excellence.

Warren Haynes on Dickey!!
