Dickey Betts Official Bootleg Vol. 1 (Expanded)

It looks like the "Official Bootleg" release is getting a rerelease with more tracks on it. Also, maybe it's the start of a series since it has Vol. 1 in the title.
The previous "Official Bootleg" had 10 songs on it, this one has 14. Below says 6 previously unreleased songs. So it looks like 8 songs cross over. So two are apparently exclusive to the original.
Anyone have any more details on this?
2 CD Live Set - Recorded between 2003 & 2008. Includes 6 Previously Unreleased performances. Mention the name DICKEY BETTS and the words "no introduction necessary" come to mind. Betts'who, with Duane Allman, designed an enduring style of rock guitar harmony in the original Allman Brothers Band. In this set recorded at various points between 2005 & 2008 in which he offered Allman Brothers hits as well as songs from his solo records, shows how important a guitarist Betts is, and how he still can connect with an audience. Throughout his guitar playing is the main attraction: ringing and biting, yet always melodic, soulful and heartfelt. Includes the songs "Jessica," "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed," "High Falls," "Good Time Feeling," "Blue Sky," "Ramblin" Man," "Seven Turns," "Southbound," "No One To Run With," "Steady Rolling Man," "Nobody Know," and more.

Thanks for the heads up. I could not find a release date.
Everyone has a plan, till you get punched in the face,

That's cool. Dickey released a number of live albums during the 2000s, all with pretty similar set lists ('cause hey, Dickey). I never got this one, I think it was one of the last ones he released, but remember hearing it was pretty solid.
Dickey also released The Collectors as #1, and that series never manifested so we'll just wait and see.
Odd the cover image is from 1994, but I know these album designers just pull whatever image looks decent and is readily available.

Pretty solid set list... I was able to see Dickey at least 30 times after the exit from the ABB.... was fortunate to see some really great shows...

i hope this is the start of some series or something. would love a 1970s great southern show

@porkchopbob I have the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame DVD and CD. Released about 2005 and Danny Toler had just joined.
Does you Rockblast DVD also have a show from the 1970's by Dickey Betts and Great Southern? Mine does. Features the second version of Great Southern. The first version is on the debut 1977 album but there was a big fight on the tour and the bass player, one of the drummers and maybe the keyboard player were fired. And Dickey had a black eye.

The Rockpalast DVD from Spirit, March 1978, contains the jam with Dickey (see also
I have fond memories of that night in the living room of my parents, together with a friend, taping with a Revox A 77 the simulcast on FM (a novelty in Germany). It was the second Rockpalast night (I missed the first one). DBGS played longer than expected, we made the mistake to tape also the audience calls and therefore, the last minutes of the encore High Falls did not make it to the tape... Another incident happened at 4.00 a.m. in the radio station because they had leased the line "only" until 4.00 a.m. but they could fix quickly. So, we eventually had Dickey and Spirit also on tape!

Here's a nice write up that will be the liner notes for Dickey's re-released Official Bootleg

@porkchopbob Yeah those pictures were taken in 1994 when Dickey got mad a Gibson and bought two Paul Reed Smith guitars. Isn't Warren in some of those pictures with a blonde SG with 3 pickups?

It's nice to see another release from Dickey featuring Great Southern coming out later this month. But having just purchased some of his other Great Southern Catalog I'm just not sure that 4 new songs justifies buying it. I'm sure some folks will disagree and that's fine. But I've gotten to the point where I just have too much music and not enough space and time to listen to it all the time. Enjoy it if you buy it!

I was thinking about buying this but I already have both the Official Bootleg & the Instant Live show.
I can't remember where I got the Instant Live show from, Although I know it wasn't hard to come by but I guess those songs are considered unreleased.
Also Twinkle was on the Official Bootleg and to be honest I didn't really care much for her "input" in the band.

@abb420 The Twinkle-era was so odd. I get maybe Dickey didn't want to sing as much, and she was a local whose career kind of fizzled, but I'll just say I was not a fan of her singing.

I wish there was a way to meet Dickey. It would be such a huge honor for me. I only got to see him once with the ABB in 1999 when he was paired with Derek. Saw him a few times solo after that. He's a legend, if you want to see a grown man cry, watch my reaction if I ever get to meet him.
