Devon Finally Takes on His Dad's Song "These Days"

"You got to live it to be able to sing it," Allman tells PEOPLE. "I had to get to a place in life where I felt like I had kind of earned my stripes enough to pull the song off." Devon Allman Pays Tribute to Late Dad Gregg with Reimagined Version of 'These Days' with Maggie Rose -

That was nice. Better than I expected. Maggie Rose added much I thought.
To me Devon looks more like Duane in around the eyes than Gregg. He is absolutely an Allman.
Devon said a few years ago his father surprisingly owned 42 guitars and he left all of them to Devon. That Gibson acoustic he is playing here must be one.

Maggie Rose seems to be the anchor for the performance. It was about what I expected & I unfortunately, had to listen twice to hear ANY keys much less Chuck Leavell. Listened to the Laid Back version several times to get this pretty bland cover out of my head.
The article was pure PR for his upcoming tour and categorized as Entertainment/Music/Country. Don't think of Jackson Browne (who wrote the song at 16) or GA as country. Wish him well on the tour.

@cyclone88 Maggie Rose doing Come and Go Blues. Yes I think she has had some success on the country music chart.
I'm just discovering she has been working with Devon Allman.
I didn't notice the keys first time through either.

I thought the vocals were clean & good; no over singing. Nice version.

Enjoyed that. I'm pretty sure the backing band is called End Of The Line. They do a good job with ABB songs. The keyboard player is their primary vocalist.

Maybe. I enjoyed listening to it. As for what it's categorized, BFD. I'm sure Jackson Browne feels the same.
Rock On Devon! Keep 'em coming!
