Derek Trucks Collaborations

I'm looking for artist derek has recorded with outside of TTB and ABB. Wikipedia has a list that stops in 2010 and i know he's worked with artist since then. I'm a little burnt out with TTB and looking for derek doing something a little different. Anyone know where I can find a list?
Thanks

This site keeps good track of all of the ABB and band members releases over the years.
To get Derek's collaborations just scroll down to "Guest Appearances" and select a section under that and he will be on anything that has DT in the appearance section.

Wow. Thanks wareagle.
That will keep me busy for a while.
Appreciate it brother.

that's an awesome resource. here are some of my favorite derek appearances and not so favorite:
bela fleck and flecktones: pineapple heart
susan tedeschi: feeling that music brings (really a dtb song with susan on vocals)
his work with scrapomatic
early warren christmas jams when he was in his straight on blues period (yield not with the colonel)
frogwings croakin at toad's
not so favorite: mccoy tyner sessions. i felt he really deferred here. if he wanted to, he could have been the best player on the album, but really held back. but as derek says, it's all about the intent. not sure what his intent was there but to be respectful of his jazz elders.

For any dTb fans, Derek is all over Mike Mattison's solo album, You Can't Fight Love, which has a very different, yet still lovely, take on Mike's "Midnight in Harlem".

I didn't know Derek was on that? I thought it was Paul Olsen and Dave Yoke on guitars? Go figure!

You know, you're right. I knew Yoke's own SG was on it, but for some reason I thought Derek sat in on a few tunes.

Thanks, my next questions was indeed going to be "What are the BEST Derek collaborations to check out?"
I like his appearances in the studio with Jazz Is Dead, though I find the recording a little sterile. I do like the Project Z work he did with Jimmy Herring.

Not official releases, but a couple notable (to me) live appearances:
A couple songs with Robert Walter's 20th Congress - great band with Joe Russo on Drums and Will Bernard on guitar:

Full show with Steve Kimock's old band Zero in 1998:

Zero show is an onstage recording - so instruments sound great but vocals are low. Doesn't matter though, we're all here for the Trucks/Kimock jams right?
For official recordings I know Widespread Panic appreciation is a mixed bag in these parts - but Derek appears on their live album Live in the Classic City on Time is Free (w/Col Bruce too) and Climb to Safety and he destroys on both songs.

He is on only a few songs, but I love his work on EC/JJ Cale's Escondido album.
Also does cool, haunting work on the last song on JJ Grey's Georgia Warhorse album.
Another I'd recommend is his song on Jerry Lee Lewis' last album -- which is worth checking out regardless of Derek. It's great.

AllMusic has a thorough list: http://www.allmusic.com/artist/derek-trucks-mn0000202162/credits
I haven't heard everything that's out there, but he played a song with The Band (post-Manuel and Robbie Robertson) on Tangled Up in Blues, which is a comp of Dylan covers by blues artists. They did "One Too Many Mornings." It's from way back in '99 but I didn't know until a few years ago that they crossed paths.
He played with Vusi Mahlasela in '07. The song is called "Tibidi Waka" and the album is Guiding Star.
Not a collaboration as much, but I also like the TTB version of "Keep Your Lamps Trimmed and Burning" from God Don't Never Change, that Blind Willie Johnson cover album from last year.

Since Mattison wrote Midnight in Harlem, it might be more accurate to say the TTB does different take on the tune.

There are plenty of bootlegs, but I don't think there are other official releases of Derek with EC than Live In San Diego. That's a collaboration you don't want to miss.
If you are just interested in sit-ins, there are tons, including McCoy Tyner, Herbie Hancock, Santana, Buddy Guy, BB King, Widespread Panic, Col. Bruce and lots of others.

Thanks for the echo 😉

I had not heard this Derek with Eric Krasno but Mule had it up on their site since they just added Eric's band to the Mule spring dates.

There's been some back and forth online about whether that's the same song as "Bag End," the instrumental the ABB did from 2009 on. I lean toward yes. Either way it's always fun to hear Derek and Krasno together.
