Just got done listening to Derek and Susan being interviewed on the NPR program Here and Now. Man I love these guys. I have never heard Derek so vocal - like you can hear the passion about the band in his voice. Sure sounds like two of the nicest people you'd ever want to meet. And I get to see them in two weeks at the Keswick. Yahoo.

Hey there mustangbob, you're correct, they are two of the nicest people you could meet. We had the pleasure of meeting them in Allentown a few years back, they both took the time to hold a conversation with me and couldn't have been more genuine. I'm so excited to follow the path they're on and look forward to seeing them grow as a band.

We are also going to see them at the Keswick. if you're going on Saturday, send me a PM and we can get together for a beverage pre show.

great interview
agree with comments above.

also, the discussion about the complementary sounds of on Fender and one Gibson was interesting. They didn't mention it but it made me think of perhaps the greatest guitar studio album of all time, which featured one Gibson and one Fender. The guitarists are what made the album great, not the guitars, but the way the sounds complemented each other probably helped.

Are you alluding to a specific Iron Maiden album, or is it Judas Priest?

Interesting stuff re: Gibson and Fender complementary tones... I know Betts played Fender early-on...was listening to 3/13/70, which is seminal ABB. His tone is tinny, suggests Fender...Skydog fatter. Regardless...its SO good. WAY complementary. Any insight into when Brother Dickey ditched his Fender during the Duane-era. I remember "Robertdee", maybe...as a poster who seemed to have vast insight into gear-configuration... Anyway, cool topic...and interesting stuff from two of the coolest musicians out there...LOVE their perspectives! Anyone...?
