I've had the Mule Tracks version of this show for years. I assume the new release is a significant upgrade in the sound mix ? Since it's out today, any reviews yet ?

Got mine in the post yesterday and is a vast improvement to my ears on the Muletracks version. The accompanying dvd is worth the money alone.

Got mine on Sunday.

The DVD on its own would have been great. Not sure how much I will listen to the CDs, to be honest.

I received it last week. Even for the European release date a few days to early. I listened to a handful of songs and watched a few PF tracks from the DVD before i had to giftwrap it and put it under the christmas tree. Officially it's a christmas gift from my spouse which i ordered online myself so now i have to wait a few weeks.
But the songs sounded great. They tried to recreate that bombastic quadrophonic sound that PF had on their tours. Also all those intro sound effects on songs like "Time" and "Money" sound really cool. Packaging is kinda similar to the Mulenium release but with 5 panels instead of 3. 4 for the discs and a 5th holding the booklet.

Mine arrived this afternoon (in the UK), and i'm listening at the moment (Trane Grin ). At first i thought the sound was a little muddy, but it seems to have settled down somewhat. Great set so far musically, and 4 discs for £17 is a bargain, kids !!

And then it skips through the last 2 minutes of Kind Of Bird. Disc has a big scratch on it. Grrr! Mad

I thought the Mule Tracks version was muddy.

I was surprised to find a copy of this CD in a FYE store (I was just as surprised to find an open FYE store in the mall) for $9.99. I had heard about the release but admit I didn't know anything about the timing or the material being released. I found a few you tube postings from the DVD and it's incredible! I'd love to get my hands on the deluxe edition w/ DVD, but did I miss out on that? I can't seem to find it for sale anywhere.

Thanks!

You can order the deluxe edition almost anywhere online. I'm sure Amazon and Gov't Mule's webpage both have them.

Gov't Mule's website takes me to amazon. Amazon doesn't seem to have the DVD edition. They do offer the deluxe in audio only.

There are some other options, I guess I wasn't framing my search correctly.

Thanks!

The only things I didn't like about the four disc version is how the DVD is housed and the overall quality of the DVD. I wish they would have added an extra panel to the case vs just having an opening to slide it into. Also, it doesn't look like it was recorded with the thought of being a DVD release. Compared to most concert DVD releases today, it is a step below.

However, I am glad it was released because it is a great show.

Here are a couple of options for the 4 disc version.

Thanks! Much appreciated!

Wish I would have pulled the trigger during the pre-sale or when I saw this..... mule.net doesn't show the deluxe version anymore, same for amazon. Best Buy and cd universe show it as back ordered.....

Hey Mike ... it is available at Amazon UK ... but with shipping it will probably cost you about $30 or more ...

http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_2_9?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=dark%20side%20of%20the%20mule&sprefix=dark+side%2Caps%2C242

I actually wanted the one disc version which was not available over here ... so I ordered it from Amazon USA and got it shipped over ... so you should be able to do the same thing in reverse ...

Got mine today. I am disappointed that the 2.0 audio is Dolby at only 192kbps. Should have been at least 448 if not lossless LPCM.
