Thanks for the post.
I have this 4 cd box set.
The jam at the end of this version rocks and I was surprised it was not included as part of the original lp.

The last time the four of them toured together was 2006 I believe, and I saw their show in the Theater at Madison Square Garden on that tour. Besides or maybe because of having great seats (about 6-7 rows back, dead center) it was the finest live sound I've ever experienced. Every voice and instrument was pristine sonically, studio clear, but with all the live energy you'd expect at a NYC show.

While it was an amazing show filled with the best of their great catalog, Almost Cut My Hair still stands out as my sharpest memory of that night. Steven's opening guitar riff was so clear and piercing it took my breath away for a moment. It was similar to how Gilmour's guitar stands out in the mix at his shows. It was an amazing performance.

Its so sad that they have thusfar only seen fit to release a documentary of that tour instead of a full concert DVD/Bluray. The documentary focuses a lot on politics, which seems dated now that we're well past the Bush presidency, but I understand the importance to them of that era. I hope they have enough footage in the can to someday release the full show, as it seems unlikely that the four of them will tour together again and it was such a great performance.

Now for a little bonus that happened that night...

My buddy and I got there about 30 minutes early and were chatting in our seats when guess who walks in? All by himself, no security or entourage, Donald Trump plops himself down, two rows directly in front us. Keep in mind, this is 2006, long before the Presidential aspirations started to emerge. So at this point, he's still just The Donald. What was interesting was what followed. After a few minutes, a some folks wandered up to say "hi". One guy had his young son in tow. And in every single case, Trump was as pleasant and friendly as could be, joking, being nice, and taking time with everyone. No matter what you feel about him now, it was an unguarded moment where he could have acted however he pleased, but he was just as warm and friendly as you could imagine. He was joined a little later by Salman Rushdie, the author (accompanied by stunning wife Padma). So I got to see the future President rock out all night. He seemed to have no problem finding and keeping the beat.
